I love all the songs from Duke.

How did Phil's voice sound during Mama?? That's a tough song on the voice to do every night!

Actually, I thought he sounded better on Mama than on a lot of the other stuff.

That's because you still live with yours.

Was he ever! LOL! I was specifically looking for that because of your post.

Went to the show last night in Montreal. Because the setlist is a lot of older songs, so I didn't recognize a lot of them. I really only started listening to Genesis around Invisible Touch so I wasn't really able to get into the music. The sound at the Olympic Stadium is really bad (but I expected that) and because my seat was waaaaaay up in back, the music and lyrics were about a half beat off from each other. So a lot of the time, unless I knew the song, all I heard was slightly disorganized sound. :-(

I did notice the change of keys that someone mentioned earlier (Styxcollector?) and the fact that Phil doesn't try the more challenging notes but it was still fine.

The drum duet was very cool.

One thing that I found was that with a couple of notable exceptions, the guitars and guitarists were lame. They needed to wake up a bit. The keyboards were EXCELLENT though, wow.

The visuals are excellent! Loved the world map at the beginning where they point out the city they're in. I can understand why it takes 21 trucks to carry all that stuff. The stage is huge.

Very large crowd, the Big O was almost packed.

Phil did a very good job at speaking French (he's very good!) for about half of the concert and then he switched to English.

All in all, I'm neutral on the concert, but not because of the quality of the show, but because I'm only a casual Genesis fan.

Sidenote: I got a call from a friend who went to the Ottawa show on Saturday and she had the same opinion as me - some parts were okay, but for the most part it was boring because like myself, she didn't recognize half the songs. And she was 4 rows back and had decent sound! Apparently both of us are too young to remember the older stuff.

According to my research, 56,040. I would say about 1/4 of those seats weren't sold because they were alongside or behind the stage.

I may get kicked out of Quebec for saying this, but the Big O has to be the ugliest concrete monstrocity I've ever seen on the inside. It's okay on the outside, but inside, Ugh!

Thank you.
I was both inside and out, in the late 80ies,and it was very impressive.Thought it held more with the floor seating.
