OT-So there I was...

Wandering around Walgreens yesterday afternoon before going out to our Ribfest to see Loverboy when I come walking up the face product aisle and see Mike Reno standing there. I had done a phone interview with him the day before, so I walked up to him and introduced myself and he said "How's it going? Hey, you're a girl, can you help me pick out some face lotion?" He was standing right in front of the Oil of Olay and was telling me what he wanted in a facial product and I mentioned that was a pretty good product and he's like, "Oh and it's on sale, I like that!".  He started walking down the aisle and said, "Walk with me Ang". We chatted a bit about the show and the weather, we were forcasted for big storms and tornadoes last night....which eventually did happen. They closed Ribfest down for a while, but reopened after the storms went through, although our meet and greet was canncelled. Makes me wish I would have taken a picture of him in Walgreens with my camera phone.

Bottom line: INCREDIBLY down to the earth and nice guy. They still sound fantastic too, although Doug Johnson seemed to be missing from behind the keys last night. Not sure whether he's not with them anymore, sick and used a replacement or because this was a one off show they flew in for in the middle of a couple down weeks, that he had other things going on.

Cool story, Ang. Did he ask you to rub the lotion on his face (or elsewhere) for him?

You know, it's always been suspect, but talking to him about lotion and just the manner in which he talked, I'm wondering whether he would want MY gender to help him out with something like that. Just saying.....
:P

I met Mike here last year along with the rest of the band. He was very easy to talk to and seemed to be pretty down to earth. I did not put any lotion on him, anywhere, however. For God sakes, he's Mike Reno, not Robert Plant......................

'81? That's when I saw Loverboy, and haven't caught them again, yet. They put on a great show. Didn't know there was a question about his lifestyle though. :?

Mike is a cool guy. Doug has stopped touring with the band...no bad vibes, just got tired I believe.

Well, that is odd then, beause I specifically mentioned in my interview with him the fact that with the exception of the untimely death of Scott Smith and his replacement, all the remaining members were orginals and he never corrected me...in fact talked about how unique that was and that they were proud of that fact.
