For 40 years CP kept what he knew would be a carreerthreatening secret.
Closeted in what he terms as 'An era of female groupies and macho man ideology',
the bass player with pomp rockers Styx lived a double life;only his brother,the band's drummer John,knew he was gay.
More personal tale than music-themed,GI isn't a happy account,although it does have an upbeat conclusion.
Chuck nurses his twin brother through alcoholism that killed him in 96,and muddles through depression and boredom during Styx's 80ies hiatus,discovering his skills as a flower arranger (yes really),before reaching the realisation that being diagnosed HIV positive doesn't necessarily spell the end of somebody's life.
