Does Steve ever talk about his opinion on Toto songs? I know he doesn't care for "99" or "Stranger In Town", but I was just curious if he ever talks about any of the others? What about songs he had a hand in writing, like "I Won't Hold You Back", "I'll Be Over You", or even "Anna"? I've gotten the impression that he's a little resentful(like a lot of rockers) of so many of the softer songs getting the attention.

I've gotta be honest, when Luke or any other musician demean some of the songs that got me into them or that I really enjoy, it really kind of makes me think well what the fuck? It's kind of saying to the fans that loved the song "your taste fuckin sucks and I took advantage of it." My other favorite guitarist, Neal Schon, occasionally has been known to stab at Journey's songs. Not the most endearing thing to do imo.

One of the things I hate the most is reading about some artist that dislikes my favorite album, solo or song of his. It really ruins it for me...I've learned not to give a fuck about what they say about their stuff. Thankfully we have people like Tom Scholz, who recently admitted he''s "wierd" because he likes his old stuff still.

I think it is more of "how many times can ya eat the same pizza!!!"......I don't think the guys rip the songs as much as they just want to move on and play other things.....I can't blame them.....now, where did my pizza go????

That's a fair enough take on it from someone who would know, Joe. I can only imagine how tiring it would get to play some of those songs for 20+ years. I get tired of some of the songs I've been playing for two!

yeh motley crue were similar a few years back, i remember tommy lee and nikki sixx saying they were fed up playing songs like girls girls girls. on the other hand, vince neil says he loves playing the songs that made motley crue stars. go figure
