Let's hear it!

I don't like the performance either, but when you throw down a boast like that ....

If he was touring as Toto, it'd be one thing, but to promote the whole thing as "Bobby Kimball: Performing The Greatest Hits Of Toto"(or whatever it is), I just don't see anything wrong with that..
He was a key element to the group, whether he had much of a hand in composing or not; he's still the most memorable vocalist they ever had, and this was proven with the decline in popularity upon "Isolation" and his departure. He has as much right to do these songs as Luke has to do them in his solo shows. Hell, Paich wrote most of their hits anyway, not Luke, and if I'm not mistaken, didn't Bobby actually have a hand in writing some songs? I have no idea to what extent, and I'm pretty sure he didn't contribute to any of the big hits, but for someone to make as much of a contribution as he has to the band over the years, I'm sorry, but he has the right to continue to perform these songs till they have to wheel him off the stage, if that's what he wants.
Also, as some others have pointed out, this was a morning show, and we don't know that his regular gigs really look anything like this. I am willing to admit this particular performance was pretty lame, but I'm also willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, and even if every performance is as cheesy, he has the right to do it, as long as he's not calling himself "Toto".

I have been a HUGE BK supporter over the years....I am just VERY disappointed with the past few months....it is actually worse that what went down in the early 90's....Make a living....go out and play every night.....end every show with Hold The Line and whatever tunes he sang.....but don't do the ones you did not sing or write, that has always been a major thing with me....

Hey Black....
Yes, he has a "right" to do those tunes....so do I....so do you.....and???
IF people are paying their hard earned cash to see TOTO and the curtains open and it's Bobby and some dudes up there that is a travesty to the Toto legend.....Man, just look at who has played in this band....Steve Lukather, David Paich, Jeff Porcaro, Steve Porcaro, David Hungate, Mike Porcaro...EVERY ONE is the GREATEST at his position....OR, the top five....and then they replaced some with Lee Sklar, Simon Phillips, Greg Philliganes.....again....Legends.....we are talking apples to onion rings.....IF BOBBY is allowing this that I cannot tell you the level of disappointment I have......
Luke only does maybe one Toto tune when he plays live....and if he does he sang and wrote the tune...As far as I am concerned BK can do ANY tune he sang on the recording or wrote....BUT....don't do tunes you did not write OR sang....might as well do Van Halen tunes then....
And.....with the youtube era everybody sees everything....
And....do not use UNAUTHORIZED footage or recordings to promote your shows, show some respect to the "brothers" you worked with for 20 years in total....
And especially don't dis the guy who played EVERY date, was at ALL the sessions, played on EVERY recording....don't throw him under the bus......for many many reasons he does not deserve it....instead others on here bag the dude that made it all happen, and praise the dude that wasn't there for over half the career of the band....
And....the "voice" of Toto.....well that is JW, BK, SL, FF, SP, DP.....hell...even that goofy fuck JMB.....but no ONE guy is the voice....BUT, in order of tunes sang in their catalogue it would be.....SL, DP, BK, JW, FF, JMB, SP.......and that is the order I look at....
I am not here to slag BK...I am not here to promote the others....just trying to put the accurate facts out there....opinion is opinion....
BUT AGAIN.....I am VERY disappointed with what has gone on.....JV

Nowhere in the Morning Show footage does it advertise TOTO.
As other "ass-lickers" on here have mentioned, the foreign TV ad could def. stand to be more clear.Joe Vana wrote:I have been a HUGE BK supporter over the years....I am just VERY disappointed with the past few months....it is actually worse that what went down in the early 90's....
Are you seriously suggesting this somehow surpasses the level of fraud as touring under the name "Mr. Toteaux"?

You're speculating again...
Just as Schon is not intimately involved in the countless Journey ads that still use Perry's likeness and voice, what makes you so sure Bobby is sitting behind the post-production editing board?Joe Vana wrote:And especially don't dis the guy who played EVERY date, was at ALL the sessions, played on EVERY recording....don't throw him under the bus......for many many reasons he does not deserve it....
Among other things, Luke's online broadside called Bobby an "internet junkie" and repeated some choice second-hand comments about his vocals.
Exactly who's dissing who again?
In fact, in many of his recent interviews overseas, Bobby is effusive about his former band members to the point of servile flattery.Joe Vana wrote:...instead others on here bag the dude that made it all happen, and praise the dude that wasn't there for over half the career of the band....
Here we go again with the juvenile black vs. white, good vs. evil, "with us or against us" crap.
As the saying commonly goes, beware those who speak in absolutes.
Nobody bagged Luke, I just don't see why performing “I Won’t Hold You Back” should suddenly change my estimation of Bobby’s talent.
Tell ya' what, while you worry about which millionaire band members' honor you wage war over, I will continue to be a fan of Luke and Bobby.Joe Vana wrote:...I am not here to slag BK...I am not here to promote the others....just trying to put the accurate facts out there....
Yeh, sure.
And Bill O'Reilly is really lookin out for me.

Wise move.
When you’re pulling "facts" straight from the foul nether reaches of your incredibly elastic anus, that is the best course of action.
If Luke is perusing the forum, I’m sure the good-little-soldier boy act did not go unnoticed.

Examples please. You can't just make statements like this and not back them up with any facts.

Ok you asked for it:

Following a brief goof-around performance of The Champs' "Tequila" and a request for some hard liquor, Lukather launched into his discussion of the "Twelve Steps" program, which in this case all involved, how shall I phrase it, "back-door love." An increasingly-annoyed Garfield repeatedly asked him to introduce the Jeff Beck song they were supposed to play, but Lukather got cruder and more outrageous with every step until finally Garfield left his post at the keyboards and went over and took Lukather aside for a brief discussion. Without further anal antics, Lukather launched into Beck's "Brush With the Blues," at which time Garfield promptly left the stage due to some undisclosed problem he'd been alerted to during a discussion with one of his associates. The energy and vibe had gone through a dramatic change, and when Garfield finally returned long after the song had ended, it was pretty much anti-climactic.
I was there and saw this second set. I really don't want to get further into this or other examples. It was bad man.
