Good read.
Seems like Luke might be backtracking on his previous "NO TOTO Songs Allowed" solo policy.
But, like he said in your interview, "If they're songs I wrote and sung then what the fuck! I wrote and sung them!"

Pity that he's still tight with Paich, Williams et al, yet can't bring himself to create anymore TOTO magic for us.
Still, even if you disagree with the decision, or how he expresses it (If the past few years we're what Luke now considers a "TOTO jr. cover band", just what the fuck was I blowing my money on ?), you gotta respect it.

Thanks for the interview.

I think Luke knows there isn't Toto without Paich, although if he's working with Dave on songs for George Benson, I wish they could work on songs for themselves, even if it was for a Toto-ish project under a different name. (kinda like Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe or something).

Weird that he hasn't talked to Simon or Greg though, since he goes back with them a long way, even outside of Toto. Time tends to heal things though...the only thing I fear won't ever be resolved is the Bobby thing, but Bobby kind of tempted fate when he went out on his own...I think 2010 or 2011 may see some rekindling of old musical relationships once Luke has got all this solo stuff out of his system. I doubt it will be in the form of Toto but I'm sure there will be something to look forward to.

Yeah, in going over the TOTO regulars, one can't help but notice that Bobby is conspicuously absent from Luke's list.
Both we're at NAMM....wonder if they crossed paths.

I doubt their paths crossed. NAMM is a pretty large event.

Please not that this interview was from last October & was just put up recently. So Luke may have talked to Simon or Greg since then. Also I did see Bobby as he sang "Hold the Line" with the Classic Rock All-Star Jam Band which was cool.
