90's Question

Postby Everett » Sat Nov 21, 2009 1:48 am

Ok let's say tommy rejoined the band and there were no damn yankees. Also areosmith hadin't reunited yet. Would styx have been able to get all the mainstream success that areosmith did? Or would it have been a mediocare return?

???
What does Aerosmith have to do with Styx? If no Damn Yankees, and Tommy was on Edge (with new name for cd of course), High Enough and Show Me The Way on one cd, Could have been a good road for Styx to follow.

I read where Run DMC was about to do the rap with Styx on the song 'Blue Collar Man'. When Jam Master J found out that Tommy Shaw was no longer in Styx, he and the rest of the group bailed out of the project.

It was only then that Run DMC contacted Aerosmith about their song 'Walk This Way'.

You sure it wasn't the song Babe they were going to redo :)

Even though I do not like the version, you gotta hand it to Aerosmith and Run, they made a marketing gold mine out of that one..

Look I realize that since Going Rouge is out there I don't have as many fact checkers on me.

Still, I can assure ALLLLL of you, like always, my facts are 100% factual & correct.

Run DMC was to team up with Styx on 'Blue Collar Man' FIRST.

If it hit like they figured it would, then the groups would have joined forces for 'Babe'.

Tommy being in Damn Yankees screwed the entire deal up!!!
