Got my Nashville Tickets this morning. Only back of house and back of balcony remain. Last time the played the Ryman it didn't sell out, this "evening with" tour of the two full albums seems to be a good draw. Come on November 11

Called the Ryman only 1500 seats sold so far . With Dennis it would be 15 thousand

That's because the Ryman IS a church. It's the hallowed site of the original Grand Ole Opry. They still have Opry at the Ryman sometimes, I took my Dad to it last time he was in town.

Great thing about the Ryman is the sightlines are fantastic, and the sound is great. There's literally not a bad seat in the house. It's one of the premier venues of its size in North America, and because of the great sightlines a lot of people film DVDs there, including Neil Young's last one as I recall.

One thing I will warn you about, all of you who are coming, and that is the seating is bench seating and it's really quite uncomfortable, so you might want to consider a cushion or pilllow. Insurance doesn't cover a new ass!

Froy... I love you.

Don't fuck with the Ryman. It's one of Nashville's holiest gig sites. It's not big, and yes - it used to be a church. It was also home of the Grand Ole Opry.

I haven't decided if I am going. The Ryman is one of the premier venues in Nashville... even if it isn't a stadium

No it wouldn't, Froy, and you know it. Styx with Dennis did OK in 1996 with packing venues, slightly worse in 1997 (none of the venues I saw the show in seemed to be packed to the brim including the lawn vs. 1996), and it's been downhill ever since. Maybe 10 years ago they could have done the sheds, no opening act, and this show to that crowd. Not in 2010. Realistically they'd be playing more venues like the Beacon in NYC and the Chicago Theater in NYC with Dennis and this kind of tour instead of the 2000 seaters in many markets.

15,000 seaters are places like MSG. Ain't happening.

The Ryman is an incredible venue. This will be my second time to see Styx there, last time was a great show. The best part is that my 15 year old daughter asked me to get us tickets before I could surprise her with them. It's nice to see people that can enjoy the band without the crap of all the drama that appears here. She enjoys the music because of the sound not the players and was the same way when we saw Dennis a few years ago. The adults are the petty ones who insist on keeping the crap alive instead of just enjoying the music.

Just ordered 4th row tickets for the show at the Warner Theater in Erie. I'm looking forward to this.
