I was 1 year out of High school actually . All I remember was the YES NO thing in Borrowed Time
I said what the hell. I made fun on Boat on The River now only to love that tune
Why Me is still one of my favorites as well as Lights,
Saw the concert and the International Amphitheater and thought it was cool they brought out the sax guy for WHY Me
I have pictures from that show,

Froy(or anyone who was there), since I wasn't fortunate enough to discover Styx before 1995, the only new albums I've been able to buy since I've been a fan have obviously been "BNW" and "Cyclorama". Whenever you buy a new album, at least for me, you kind of get an idea in your head of which songs are going to go somewhere. What was that like with "Cornerstone"? Obviously "Babe" was already becoming a hit, but did you pretty much expect "Why Me" and "Borrowed Time" to be the other exposed tracks? Did you think "First Time" was an obvious hit? I wish I could have started earlier. :(

You and me both my friend. If only i had been alive

Yeah, it was pretty easy to tell which songs were going to go somewhere from "BNW" and "Cyclo"..

Along with Moving Pictures and Foreigner 4. A great time to be a rock fan.
Diary of a Madman, Mob Rules, High 'n' Dry, Get Lucky, Abacab, Precious Time; just a lot of good albums that year.

The debut of John Elefante on Vinyl Confessions a year later made up for it.

Saw them together with Survivor on that tour, John could belt it.

Ah, Cornerstone ........a landmark album, signifying the Death of Styx the Rock Band and the Birth of Styx the Pop Band.

The "Yes, no" bridge in Borrowed time along with Babe and First Time were the first indications that maybe this band was targeting a demographic that had me on the outside looking in.

Now the question of "did I outgrow the band or did the Band outgrow me ?" is definately subject to debate !

I totally disagree

Hold On is a master piece
Got to Rock on is awesome

I have a live concert from 1980 from Kansas that I will be playing on the show.
I guarantee you will be blown away by it.

We are just a few days away from going live.
All the software is installed just tweaks remain.

Yep. We will not ever see something like that again either. The current state of the music business is sad to say the least.

Well, if the band stayed on the same course they were on, they wouldn't have lasted long in the 80's. The musical landscape was going through changes and the advent of MTV changed the game dramatically. It was a smart move. However, I am not saying that I think they made all the right choices. I also think that the number of fans that would still follow them if they stayed the same was not enough to allow them to continue if they didn't adapt to the changes.
