I was wondering whether JY and Tommy would play that solo in harmony like that. Cool!

Actually the three things that I thought would be a stretch for Gowan in learning this stuff would be "Castle Walls," and the two soliloquy parts from "Superstars" and "Great White Hope." Looks like they handed this one off to JY . . . what about "Great White Hope," anyone know how they start that?

Gowan did the intro for great white hope "ladies and gentleman, ladies and gentlemen your attention please. In this corner wearing white from the city of the big shoulders the number one contender" etc. I thought they would do the old 007 intro but the original intro was pretty cool.

superstars is a very difficult song to pull off live.
It would be helped if Gowan did the spoken word bit and not JY.
It would also help if the correct words were used there.

Except for JY's TERRIBLE section, it's actually decent, but man that section is really not good.
They should repair it.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

i understand what you are saying and honestly I dont really disagree all that much...in fact, you and my brother have identical points of view on this whole thing......but for me, i have sadly accepted that for whatever reasons, right or wrong or who's to blame that they cannot get it worked out to work together again.

so with that said it means that I can either learn to accept both "lesser" versions of my all time favorite band.....the now "tommy and JY styx" or the "dennis trying to have his new band be exactly like vintage styx" solo act. both of them have their good points but I 100% think that they are less than their original "sum of parts".

so if I accept they aint gonna play together then I try to make the best of both acts "acting" like styx. i dont put too much emphasis on dennis writing the "majority" of the hits because songs like roboto, babe and dont let it end are some of my least favorites. when styx is clicking its songs like grand illusion, renegade, blue collar man, come sail away, castle walls, fooling yourself.

when you listen to all of the solo albums by all of the previous players it is obvious that "STYX" together made the songs great on all of the old albums......because each of their solo albums lacks a great deal in true comparison whith what made me love styx.

to me this situation is like watching your parents get divorced.....regardless of who's to blame you try to find a way to keep loving both of them and that's what I do. YES, i would love for them to be together again....but as long as they are not I dont plan to boycott one or the other....i like the songs too much.
