That was one pathetic keyboard slap. Be a solo artist, not a Styx clone band.

I was thinking the same thing. I felt like "what the heck are doing?". Not one of Dennis brighter moments.

And yet it was still the best part of the whole song.

Yea the song sucks

because evidently the guy who wrote is was unbelievably strung out when he wrote it... I guess a better question may be when was Tommy Shaw not high as a kite in the 70s and 80s?

When he was asleep.

Dennis has always been an inventive and excellent improvisational keyboardist. I loved his take at the beginning of a song I really don't like much otherwise. Sorry for those too mundane in their thinking to appreciate this, but I am sure there is a version of Gowan playing chopsticks out there you might like.

Personally, I have always enjoyed Dennis' keyboard work. It just the start of this particular intro that I felt he was off. Everyone has those moments and doesn't mean that all of their work is that way. If that was the case I wouldn't even be interested in it all.

Steady does it Bugsy, steady does it.
Dennis is an excellent keyboarder, that's why I think it could have been so much better.

There is indeed a chopstix version by Gowan.
It was done at the Benihana restaurant in Little Rock Arkansas.
His kit was made out of upside down saki cups.
Needless to say Gow was strung out on saki, but it was an excellent performance nevertheless.

The greatmundane.

And I am sure the "Saki tapes" are hidden gems in the Gowan oeuvre, hopefully coming out when the "Gowan: The Masterpiece Collection" is released. I look forward to that Gr8 and also to toasting it with, well, what else? A cup of saki!!!

Bugsy

I can't wait either.
Cheers and down the hatch.
Jesus loves you ,but everybody else thinks you're a knob.

I think he does a fine job singing and playing the song.

Dennis' band has benefitted from the change in guitar players.

His current band seems to be working out well for him.

Define working out well. I don't think either side can honestly consider their state as things "working out well".

I meant in terms of quality compared to his other recent band line ups. It has put some fire back in his performances which I felt was a little lacking with the previous line ups. It also appears that he seems to really enjoys working with this group of musicians.
