#16 Best Styx video

Postby Toph » Thu Jun 16, 2011 12:49 pm

I was very mixed on where I should put this one. Part of me wanted to put it toward the bottom, while I also had to acknowledge that, while not my cup of tea, it did at least have an artistic quality to it and since we are talking about videos, one of the most artistic in the catalog. But the song itself and the video are pretty much a snoozefest, so it didn't get rated high up in the catalog either. Right in the middle.

Toupe? Never knew that. Not that I've ever really put much thought into his hair. Although, now that I think about it, he's kind of goofy looking, and he had that "Call Me" look for a while (through the EOTC years). I must say, the current all white look is not good either. Maybe he should just get a buzz / army cut or something - unless is head is all lumpy like Granpa Simpson.

Not a toupee --- but definitely dyed, permed and 1980's mullet styled.

As to the video. I love this one, but the art reference (Edward Hopper) may have gone over a few people's heads. I didn't love the song originally, , but I loved it set to this moody video, and now like it a lot for its bluesy, melancholy feel.

Bugsy
Change your hairdo. Change your name.
Congratulations! You're still the same.

What do you call what he's sporting these days on his shoulders. It reminds me of the old, sun bleached turtle shell my kids found out in the woods this spring. Poor fella. he should go back to the dyed, permed, mullet.

I am sure with the money he has made he could have bought a better "hair appliance" then the one he's got now. When I saw how much he dyed his hair for the RTP tour I thought to myself, did he use the whole freaking bottle???
