Tommy comes off like a whiny baby in this interview, IMO.

He can't understand why the rest of the band was miserable? The rest of the band wanted to tour, he had Damn Yankees commitments and thought they were taking a year off the road - that is according to HIM. He was putting Ted Nugent and Jack Blades at the same or higher priority as Styx. That is going by HIS OWN INTERVIEW...and not just this one. That is what the entire issue was with Tommy. He was splitting his time between Damn Yankees and a solo career - and the rest of the band were tired of it.

Now what Monkey should they have kicked Shaw out forever ? He did the same thing pal
Dennis needed Tommy more than Tommy needed Dennis. It's as plain as day. The days of working only when Dennis wanted to are over. They are happy. In fact Dennis is happy. Why are you not?

Because people like you and Monker are so full of shit.

How much does Dennis pay all you people to leap to his defense all the time? I'm sure he's very appreciative.

Seriously? Are you that new? Have you yet to realize there are people on both sides of that aisle that come here?

Both interviews came off with class. Just because some here don't wish to hear their anti-hero's take on things doesn't make their statement less factual or less their opinion. I didn't think that Dennis came off as crappy with RS at all. I think he was just playing with them and I think that he gave a great interview. Dennis has a great sense of humor and RS deserves a bit of ribbing from Styx/Dennis for the way they've treated them in the past. They're lucky either member would pick up the phone. Tommy also came off fine and not really bitter to me. Todd has since said that Tommy was misquoted in that interview as well and that Tommy was disappointed by that. Knowing RS, I would imagine that's the case.

One thing I did notice that nobody pointed out- in earlier interviews Dennis said "Guys, give me 6 months to get over this". In this one, he said "Guys, give me 3 or 4 months to get over this". Not calling him a liar, just noticing the discrepancy.

A tad different from "The door is open anytime for Dennis to return when his health permits it".....

Exactly. Tommy did the exact same thing with Damn Yankees as Dennis did with Hunchback and they got Glen to replace Tommy. Then when Tommy wanted back in Styx, Dennis let him back in Styx. So why couldn't they do a year or two with Lawrence and then let Dennis back in?

That's how Dennis treated Tommy. Now look how Tommy treats Dennis.[/quote

That just isn't true.

Both Tommy and Dennis basically agree on the DY/Styx thing.

Tommy called Dennis multiple times to get Dennis to commit to a Styx reunion. Dennis wouldn't do it due to Boomchild. So, Tommy went to DY. Then DY went on a hiatus, Styx got together to rerecord Lady, and then the tours, and album. Tommy didn't hold on to DY and split his time between the two bands. To say Dennis 'let Tommy back in' is a farce. Also, Tommy didn't sue the band. And, finally, obviously Tommy does not have an issue getting along with the other members of the band. Dennis wasn't just fired once...he was fired back in the 80's and let back in. Nobody in Styx wants him there.

Oh, I think Dennis believes ever word of what he says....but, he is in denial that the band simply no longer wants him there and hasn't for a very long time. He dug his own grave, shot himself in the head, and now can't believe that he's six feet under.

I think it's fairly obvious by now that the answer to that is 100% YES. 8)
