DDY did a nice job singing although he did screw up a little in the beginning and the first 2 wo wo wo wo,s were a little off time. The band was not good. I'm sorry but there is no excuse for the mistakes on guitar at the beginning and at the end. I would not expect DDY to settle for this in his band. He is too good for that! I do think it's cool he is adding some songs not heard in a while. Small stage though. Looked like a bar. Sorry I can't help it. :)

It was a casino, something your boys in the current version of Styx is familiar with playing

Dennis does a better version even with his new band :?

Of course Dennis sings it better but I think over all the Styx show is more professional and polished.

Watch the 2 videos back to back. It's like comparing the production of a high school play to a broadway show. Everything from the set to the sound to the way the band member carry themselves. The name Styx just carries so much more power and I am fully aware that Dennis is a big part of that. But as hard as he may try (or maybe he does not try) his show is not up to the same standard which is not something he would have settled for with Styx.

You know your insane when you think a copy cat singer is better than the original There is no way on earth no matter what the story is that Gowan is better than Dennis I would bet if you even as Gowan himself he would tell you Dennis is a better singer than he is. Why you call yourself ChicagoSTYX and then stick up for a Canadian copy cat is be young comprehension. Especially when the guy is singing one of Dennis songs that makes it even more unbelievable

I didn't say he was better then Dennis as a singer. That's not what I was talking about. I am talking about the show, the production. Larry does not do a bad job on this song but I agree Dennis has a better voice, just not a better show.

Of course Styx puts more money into their production then Dennis does. That's obvious. But Dennis has it were it counts. The original writer and singer performing the songs he created and made the world sit up and take notice. I'll take that over a big production of smoke and mirrors and a substitute vocalist.

Fote note: Yes, Dennis has a substitute singer for TS penned songs. I have said before I not that keen on that idea and that's not why I go to see him.

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!!!!

Musically not as good as my live King Biscuit orginal when the PA announcer announces 'ladies & gentleman A&M recording artists STYX' and then they lead off with that blistering guitar solo that starts out Born For Adventure. But after all these years it is GREAT to see Dennis putting in the GREATEST single from the GREATEST album EVER!!!! Awesome Dennis!!!!

I still will never have a clue why the print critics didnt love this album. Who can give me that answer?? Sterling, anyone??

That album had EVERYTHING. It was the PERFECT album. It still is.

Yeah, Dennis's band is made up of rookies. Shows how much you know.

Tom Sharpe:
Tom has been playing drums with Dennis DeYoung since 2007. He is also the drummer for the Grammy Award winning group Mannheim Steamroller, and is a sought out performer and clinician of his own unique, cinematic, highly percussive work. Tom's compositions have won many awards, including the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, and he is regularly commissioned to write works for orchestra, choir, and percussion ensemble. His performances have been featured nationally on both PBS and WGN. Dennis has also called upon Tom to conduct The Music of STYX with Symphony Orchestra, and he was the drummer/percussionist for select performances of DeYoung's "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" in Chicago. Tom is endorsed by Yamaha, Sabian Cymbals, Vater Sticks and Mallets, and Aquarian Drum Heads, and is a touring artist with the Illinois Arts Council and Urban Gateways Center for Arts Education.

August Zadra:
August joined Dennis in 2010 on lead guitar and vocals. Since the age of 15, guitar playing has been a passion that pulled August from Fairbanks, Alaska, to Hollywood, California, where he attended and graduated from the Guitar Institute of Technology. His roots are in classic rock and, while raising a family, he chose to focus his musical talents on paying tribute to some of his greatest inspirations. August has been a constant in the Los Angeles music scene for the past 20 years, playing with a variety of bands and is often sought out as a guitarist/singer collaborator for recording projects. His guitar playing was featured nationally on VH-1 in a “You Rock With” segment, and he has performed with members of Boston, the Gin Blossoms, and Poison. August is endorsed by Line 6 and GHS Strings. When he isn’t living the dream on the road with Dennis DeYoung, August can be found performing with his Journey tribute band, LIGHTS, and spending time with his wife and daughters.

Jimmy Leahy:
New Jerseyan Jimmy Leahey joined Dennis in 2008 on lead guitar and vocals. Jim has also toured and/or shared the stage with John Waite, Patti Smyth, Chris Cagle (CMT), Alison Krauss, Glen Burtnik, Jill Rock Jones (Bad Boy South), Grammy award winning DionneFarris and a host of others. Jim has appeared on Jay Leno, Good Morning America, VH1 Classic, The Grand Ole Opry, the US open, the Radio Music Awards and countless TV and radio stations. Jim's compositions and guitar playing has been featured on network TV, Disney Channel, The History Channel and countless cable programming. When off tour Jim enjoys his family, teaching and playing in New Jersey with many friends and music greats.

John Blasucci:
John joined Dennis in 2005 on keyboards. From artists like Richard Marx to Michael Bolton, John Blasucci has made a living helping others share their music with the world. As a composer, producer, programmer and pianist, John has racked up a healthy discography that includes work with Celine Dion, Josh Groban and ‘N Sync. A regular on the contemporary jazz circuit, John is a member of red hot guitarist Nick Colionne’s band and co-author of four of Colionne’s Top Ten hits. A third generation pianist, he learned to love his instrument by listening to his father and grandfather play on the family piano. One of his early musical influences was teacher Alan Swain, whom he began studying with intensely during high school. John attended Northern Illinois University and after touring Europe and the US, he came home to the Chicago jazz circuit. Other work by John has included penning the Jewel Food Stores jingle, a song with the London Symphony Orchestra in a PBS documentary and work on Mattel's Barbie Nutcracker and Repunzel Suite movies. John is a Yamaha endorsed artist.

Craig Carter
Craig joined Dennis in 2010 on bass and vocals. He is a native of San Jose, CA. He has a degree in music theory and youth education from Mid-America Christian University in Oklahoma City. Craig now resides in Nashville and has extensive studio and touring experience in Christian, Gospel, and Country music working with artists including Cece Winans, Natalie Grant, Melinda Doolittle and Phil Keaggy to name just a few. Craig has toured extensively throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean. He is currently working on a new solo cd project title 10ft Tall where he showcases his wide range of talents including lead vocals, bass, and acoustic guitar.

Yeah, they're rookies alright. They're associated with more top-tier acts and projects than the replacements in Styx could hope to be. The guys in Styx are good, I won't deny that in the way that you foolishly call Dennis's bands members "rookies" but the guys in Styx don't have the overall incredible resume that Dennis's band has. Fact. Dennis has world class musicians
