Tim Tebow!!!

Thanks for the congrats. Being a Steelers fan it must really suck to do that. Divine intervention or running for his perverbial life (career), IDK. But he did what Elway told him to do, he pulled the trigger. And for whatever reason, the #1 defense in the NFL (per your definition) couldn't contain him. I'm hoping not to see a repeat of the last Broncos/Pats matchup, but I'm not feeling overconfident either.

It doesn't suck at all, especially knowing we didn't deserve to win the game in the first place. Even if we would have pulled it out today, I don't think the Steelers were advancing next week anyhow. This isn't the first time I've ate crow. GREAT thing is, is that I don't have to do it much often and I'll see a plethora of great times VS the bad times being a Steelers fan. The Steelers weren't the #1 defense "per my definition", they were literally ranked the #1 overall ranked defense in the league as well as the #1 ranked pass defense in the league. Tebow was the WORST QB in the playoffs by statistic, but yet, the results of this game turned out to be absolutley backwards. That's what you get in the NFL, anybody can beat anybody. The Steelers probably would of spanked Denver 99/100 times. This was Denver's night.

As far as the Steelers not containing Tebow, I couldn't disagree more. If ANYTHING, we did contain him. Tebow's entire game is wrapping him up in the running game. We did that well, we just weren't prepared, schematically, to defend the deep ball and it showed. If it was New England out there, there would of been a better game plan involved to stop the pass. Because of Tebow's horrific numbers, we simply ignored the passing game today (coaching) and it bit us pretty harshly.

It's precisely because they contained him in the running game, and concentrated on that too much, that they didn't defend the deep ball. Strangely enough, it seems as if Tebow is a lot more accurate on the throws down the field than he is in the short game.

From what I heard Elway sat Tebow down and said look , don't be scared of picking up the ball and throwing it, because thats what you are going to do. Focused his mind and suprised the steelers at the same time.

Which all translates back to coaching. It was pretty obvious that wasn't the typical Steelers, disguising defense that we are all use to seeing. We brought out a very vanilla defense and didn't give an ounce of shits to adjust to anything of what happened to what was going down on the field. Coaching cost the Steelers this game, that scheme was terrible and there was no reason not to adjust to any of it. It was OBVIOUS that Ike Taylor was having the worst game of his ENTIRE career. All game, he got beat downfield by 50 yard + throws. Tebow was just, winging it downfield. After all of that, even to the LAST PLAY we put Ike on an Island with no safety help. Baffles me.

Can this possibly be real? It sounds that way. And surely weirder things have happened to '80s classics. (Which was worse: Modern English's Melt With You being used for to pimp Taco Bell or The Human League's Fascination recruited to sell Kingsford Charcoal?)

Man, are you guys dense sometimes. Christians believe in giving thanks to God for all things. That doesn't mean they think God helped them score a goal/point. How many times does this need to be explained to you?

That is a very interesting thought, though. Why give thanks to anyone who isn't responsible for something? Unless I guess you are thanking him for the base talent which allowed you to do those things. But still, if Christians thank God for "all things", it does kinda assume they consider him behind it.

Stevie Johnson blamed God for dropping that game winning touchdown against Pittsburgh a year or 2 ago. There's your "just once".

Guaranteed that the answer to all things bad will be "The devil had an influence on the human spirit" or "God had a plan for that person to realize they must over-come their weakness and find the strength to do good the next time around." Religion is the best form of redaction I've ever witnessed.

George Carlin is my ALL TIME favorite comedian. He is on a level of his own when compared to the all-time greats. I have all his VHS stand up tapes and DVD's. Was going to see him in Pittsburgh before he passed away but I was out of town when his scheduled date was on the calender. Some of my buddies went, said it was a great experience to witness the greatest comedian of all time. Pure genius.

Saw Carlin live three times. Nobody more funny and nobody more brilliant than this fucker was. I've seen a whole lot of comedians in my life, and nobody was close to this guy's talent.
