Let's talk title tracks. Not counting the solo albums, there are a total of 7 Styx albums that are named after a song on that album. What is your favorite title track? :?:

Tough call. I picked Pieces Of Eight simply because it is my "flavor of the day". I listened to Edge yesterday, I usually break out that whole CD in the fall, around the time of it's original release 23 (TWENTY THREE!!!!) years ago. That's a fall CD for me (and I used to have Edge on vinyl, wish I could find it again apparently it's pretty rare).

But I think out of all of them I like the message of PO8 better than any of the others. Simply a great song. Grand Illusion and PO8 are interchangeable for me on any given day.....

Off to listen to Edge now... I love that song too, reminds me of fall.

Why is Rockin The Paradise not on this list? Isnt that the 'title track' for Paradise Theater?? It would have just not sounded right singing ' and we'll be rockin the Paradise Theater' , still rockin the Paradise is close enough to call it a title track.

P.S.- I voted for Edge. LOVE that song, Grand Illusion & Pieces of Eight were both a VERY close second.

I don't know why, but I can never get enough of the title track from Brave New World, Pieces of Eight is a close second

That's a very good song. I like it a lot. It's very dark sounding. Almost as if the brave new world is clouded, murky and kind of scary. But not my favorite title track. Now you made me want to hear it so off I go.

Title track - a song whose title is the same title as the album. When was the AD 1928/Rockin The Paradise album released?

IMO... the best Styx title track is "The Grand Illusion"... great lyrics... and awesome synth and guitar work.

My first choice is Crystal Ball with Pieces of Eight an extremely close tie. Over the years I have found that I pull out the Crystal Ball album to listen to more then some others.

Disagree with you Poth man.

Back in the day when the album was released( on its way to #1) I heard more than on radio DJ( in 2 different states) refer to 'Rockin The Paradise' as the 'TITLE TRACK' from the Paradise Theater album.

Again if you are renaming the album Rockin The Paradise that would be true.

Besides, betting that Rockin in Paradise would be running away with it.

IF Rockin' the Paradise is a title track, then it's my favorite. If it's not, then The Grand Illusion and Pieces of Eight tie for the top spot. I love all the songs on this list, though. I can't beleive it's been 23 years since Edge came out! That's friggn CRAZY! I love that song too, but it's not even the best song on that album. Love is the Ritual is my favorite off of Edge.
Do you guys remember when Edge came out Styx went on a bunch of late night shows? They Did Arsenial Hall, Alan Thicke and a couple other shows. I have them all on VHS somewhere! I remember seeing them play "Edge" on Alan Thicke's show. Really cool. It was before the tour started, so it was the first time I ever saw them play that song live.

This must have been a follow up visit on Rick Dees. Must have been when Show Me The Way was peaking.

Because "7 top 10s" have gone to "8 top 10s" and they are in different outfits.

They must have been considering releasing Not Dead Yet after Show Me The Way because they were singing it here on the Rick Dees shows (same episode as Show Me The Way). Dennis butchers lyrics again...

May not be that Dennis flubbed the lyrics. He sang it this way on all the live versions. I saw them twice on this tour ad he sang it just like on Dees. And I have 3 boots from the era, all w the same lyrics here.
