What happened on April 25th 1981?

In Styx history, what unique thing happened on April 25th 1981? It never happened before an hasn't happened since. Hint - it was not a week Paradise theatre was #1.

A DDY fan actually praised JY for his vocals and wonderful and charismatic personality in his latest MTV interview.

Or, maybe it was being voted "America's Favorite Band", or whatever, in a Gallup poll.

nah, the gallop poll was in 1980 I think.

the April 25th, 1981 thing I'm gonna say was tied to the accusation of the "backwards satanic messages" thing. i'm gonna say that it's either the first time JY did his live spill about how "the devil had nothing to do with this next song" or it was the date that they were accused publicly about it for the first time???????

is that right?

Styx had two singles in the Billboard Top 40 at the same time? Best of Times and TMTOMH.

Or could it be the day that PT was certified platinum, making the Styx the first act to have four consecutive platinum albums?

Boomer gets closest.

In doing a bit of research for the Paradise Theater listening party, I discovered this interesting factoid. April 25, 1981 was the first and only time that Styx had two singles in the Billboard Top 20 on the same week. A month prior, Best of Times had stalled at number 3 and they released TMTOMH which entered at #60. The thing is that Best of Times didn't free fall after it peaked, but rather stuck around in the top 10 for another 4-5 weeks at which point TMTOMH had gotten enough momentum to rise up to #19. So, during that week, Best of Times was #9 and TMTOMH was #19. The first (and only) time Styx accomplished this feat. It also shows how hot this band was at the time.
