I just wanted to add.... that version of Boat On The River is reall, really good. I've always thought that this song showcased Tommy and Dennis at their performance best. The most under-used and likely most powerful aspect of Styx was how really, really well Dennis' and Tommy's voices blended... and no song shows this better than Boat On The River.... even at 8 or 9am when it sounds on most songs like a glorified shower performance, this one is really striking to me.

Anyway, I almost forgot...

Thank you so very, very much for sharing those. Very kind of you indeed.

I so agree with you on this. The wonderful two-part harmony of Dennis and Tommy made what would have been a pretty pedestrian song, Haven't We Been Here Before, into something really beautiful and special.
Boat on the River is very much in the same vein.

I contend that Dennis DeYoung had/has such an amazing voice that often his very best harmony was, and is, with himself.

One of the greatest appeals of Classic Styx, IMHO, was the harmony, so close that often you could not distinguish an individual voice.

I so agree here. I think Dennis and Tommy provided some of the best harmonies. And Boat on the River showcases it beautifully. Off to listen to the Gulf War mix.

Thanks again.
