STYX In Chicago

Styx was on WLUP in Chicago this morning. I only heard the last hour of the show but I did hear that they will be at the Vic on 8/3/04 tickets go on sale this weekend. Styx has not played a show in the city of Chicago since the 1983 Kilroy shows. They also said that Chuck has not been doing too good the last few days but he was planning on being at the Tower Record store with them later today. This coming weekend will be STYX weekend on The Loop 97.9 FM. I also saw them singing "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" at the Cubs game last night.

I heard the majority of the interview as well. I'm glad Chuck is doing better. I thought it was kind of a shame that Gowan only answered 1 question for the whole thing. And, I love marketing. The hometown band is playing a venue that seats a max of 1500 people. They are calling it an "intimate" evening. I'll say. not dissing the band, just making a commentary on how far things have fallen for groups like them. I heard the replay of Take Me Out to The Ballgame. Wasn't the worst version I've ever heard done, but it also wasn't the best. IMO.

Hope whoever goes to the instore signing today has a good time.

Regarding "Take me out......." was it all of them just singing the melody, or did they do anything fancier with it ?

Well, I didn't actually see the performance. but to me it sounded like the plain vanilla version, and I think it sounded like JY was the one doing the singing. But I could be wrong.
