New Songs - Current Styx Concert

Postby SuiteMadameBlue » Thu Jan 13, 2005 7:49 am

Okay to be fair to the current Styx fans.

I know on other groups that fans are complaining about the medley and how they would like to hear some of the entire songs.

What songs would you like to hear from the current line-up of Styx? This would be with Gowan singing.

Ide love to see DDY & orchestra follow Clare De Lune with Balarina (Can never spell that word) and also have him do This Old Man when I see him in Florida on April 17th

Man In The Wilderness

I just cannot believe Current Styx does not do this great song in concert! That is a crying shame!

Lights
Borrowed Time (heard the new lineup do these live couple years ago, and loved them both)
Man In The Wilderness
Everything Is Cool
Captain America
A Criminal Mind
Half Penny Two Penny
She Cares
Renegade (in the style of the album, not the marathon they seem to love so much)
Grand Illusion
Yes I Can

Seen them 3 times with Gowan and setlist hasn't changed that much.So come on lads (Styx) .

This is my biggest complaint for the new lineup: freshen up the setlist. For those of us older fans who still follow the band, it would be nice to see some of the non-hits show up.

I am having nightmares at the even the remote PROSPECT of Gowan (or anyone else) singing Castle Walls or Queen of Spades.

There are many, many Tommy and JY songs from the Styx catalog, many listed here, that would keep people happy.
Man in the Wilderness, Young Man, Double Life, Love in the Midnight to name a few classic numbers.

And, of course, the songs from the "best album since Grand Illusion", Cyclorama. Surely they could include more of those. Ask Billy Bob along to tour.

They have a large number of fan friendly songs to choose from without using (and abusing) DDY penned/sung songs.

:?

Seen them do Queen of Spades with Larry. It sounded pretty good. But instead of the high note in the middle that Dennis would hit, Larry did a long squeal. Not bad, for a squeal.-ERIC

BLACK WALL

After Gowan got through, that would be "Blackened Wall."
