I can think of few other shows that perfected the art of being cheesy and likeable at the same time.

Great lords of derailing threads Robin! Quick...to the bat cave! We must stop the Riddler before his various jokes totally derail the continuing of our dead horse community!

Loved that show as a kid. Kerblam! Kapow! Zoffo!

OOps....Batman vote. Close but Adam West I think is my first choice. That show was a camp classic! Close behind is Michael Keaton. The others are just posers! :D

No way! Posers...come on now. Before you know it, you'll be telling us the second Darren on Bewitched was the best one!

Adam West rules!

R.O.R.

I loved the original; Star Trek ! that I can still quote it into my 40's is testament to how often I watched it.....

By the way, do you think the "extra's" who beamed down to the planet with Kirk, Spock and McCoy knew they were doomed ??? the mortality rate for those crewmen was awfully high, don't you think ?

I often wondered if the crew's life insurance agent cancelled their policies before they beamed down !

Oh yeah, curse of the "red shirts"...it always went something like....

"Captain! I found something over here......AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

Then:
"He's dead, Jim"

Did you ever see Galaxy Quest? TOO funny. So many Trek references...the one "extra" was always bemoaning the fact that he didnt have a name cause everyone knows....all the nameless guys always die! lol

Tim Allen, Sigourny Weaver, Alan Rickman, et al. It makes fun of the whole genre, including the conventions, but you can tell it was made by fans. I think you will like it.

The original Star Treks are the best! In a strange way, the predictable deaths, horribly fake-looking props, and wooden dialogue only enhanced the Trek viewing experience (and still does to this day, at least for me)!!!!!

If you were ever a Trek fan, which I was, original series and The Next Generation, "Galaxy Quest" is a MUST see. Absolutely laugh out loud funny all the way through.

(Hope no one minds that I'm still rambling on about old shows since we're way off topic anyway)! I'm just curious, is there anyone else out there like me, as in: Are you more likely when channel surfing to sit and watch a few minutes of a 20 or 30 year old show that you've seen a 100 times versus trying something new? (And I'm sure there's some great new stuff out there)!! Anyway, that's me to a tee. I shudder to think how many times I've watched episodes of Star Trek, MacGyver, Batman, and Columbo, in particular! Yikes

Nodding in total agreement. There are many that when I come across I find I watch. Even when I know the dialogue by heart. I wonder what that says about us...don't answer that

South Park completely rips off Star Trek too. They have parodied entire episodes and picked characters out and placed them in their series. Too funny.

But, you're right about Galaxy Quest...it is to Star Triek what Spaceballs is to Star Wars. Also Red Dwarf has their share of Trekisms.
