And why do you think Bobby sounded good?
The_Noble_Cause wrote:Also, having heard and seen the footage from the most recent tour, Joe is still not the vocalist he once was. Like I said from the beginning, they traded one vocally-compromised old tenor for another.
DracIsBack wrote:For me, the difference is that Joe is simply more consistent as a singer. Stop. Yes, there are issues with him having the same range as his heydey but I find Bobby wildly all over the map in terms of pitch, screeching etc. I like Bobby and all but he's also one of the most inconsistent live vocalists that I've ever seen.

I wonder how much auto tune is going to be used.

Someone on the TOTO network site mentioned that Luke says they are having legal issues with it. I hope it comes out soon. Doubt I'll play FIB live ever again.

I'd take Joe singing "Can't Stop Loving You" over Spinner anyday. Spinner was an adequate replacement, but that's it. Joe in his prime was a force to be reckoned with. Just watch his version of White Sister from 1987. Just awesome. As for why Luke is so keen on him...I think becuz they all genuinely like each other. If Luke is gonna play "Hold the Line" for the rest of his life, he'd much rather do it with buds.

Being in-tune is overrated. It's about feeling. Both Joe and Bobby are past their prime. Wonder how Jean Michael Byron is sounding these days.... (jk)
