Squeeze was amazing. I saw them a few years back at Avalon without Difford. This time it was with Difford and Tillbrook, and Tillbrook's voice is amazing. I also LOVE his guitar tone. Nothing like a nice Tele sound

What this got me thinking was that first off, I've seen more shows this summer than I have in years. Second, nearly every band I've seen/am seeing had an album out or was probably touring in 1997.
I saw Shaw Blades 2x (DC and Chicago between March and May) - they don't count. However:
Rush - HYF came out in 1987 and I saw 'em in 87 or 88; saw them in June this year
The Police - Amnesty INt'l was 1986, so close enough
Genesis - was still on the Invisible Touch tour in 1987; saw 'em at the Vet (RIP) - saw them in the UK a few weeks back and will again in Boston in September
Squeeze - released Babylon and On in 1987/88
Bryan Adams - released Into the Fire in 1987; seeing him Friday
Heck, I'm even slightly considering seeing Styx/DL and getting a lawn seat just to see Styx. For $25 or so, I may chance it. DL released Hysteria in 1987.
So it's just odd. Not in a bad way, just odd.
