Surely you must be joking....we may have moved away from vinyl, but the broken record plays merrily on...warped and scratchy and all.

He's going with me booked it already,
Its been just to long for this small little problem this little band went through.
Poor Chuck his feelings were hurt
Gimmie a break he owes his career to Dennis.
Your right grow up before somebody dies then they would say
Gee I should have called.
Are you insane let it go
Not even close to letting anything go.
What did he do run to the pay check?
Gee what a loyal friend Chuck is

Looks like we have a situation here
My vote is with the first listing.

If you like Dennis' contributions to what was Styx, then go and enjoy his shows. If you like Tommy and JY's contributions, then go see the current Styx. IT'S THAT SIMPLE.
Everything else that concerns personal matters between the individuals that are involved directly in the situation, as well as their professional agreements and disagreements we have no control of whatsoever and simply none of our business. If you are not someone that is directly involved in the matter (ie band member) then you have no say in who tours with who.
They are all grown men that can make decisions for themselves. If person A does not with to work with person B then it ain't happening. It's been seven years. As fans just agree to disagree with one another, stop the petty bickering between one another and just ENJOY THE MUSIC (which is what it is supposed to be about to begin with)

Anyway:
As mentioned in Behind the Music, and if I remember it was Jim Vose that said it: Styx is Dennis, Tommy, JY, Chuck & John. Period. Anything else is always compared to this for justification if it is or isn't "Styx".

I guess it's not that simple for froy

You have a followers mentality.
Fans have more say than you give them credit for.
Yes its been 7 years and so far Glen has returned to play with Dennis
Only the 3 big Baby's hold out and they are getting killed for it.
They have reduced Styx to a joke touring band who makes cover cds.
From 4 multi platinum cds with Dennis to 2 cds that went into the toilet.
The direction of STYX is the blind leading the blind.
They dont even look like a band in there photos,
The music sounds the same way,

You think its that simple for Dennis ?

Fans have say in what an artist does to a certain extent I will agree. I know for a fact that Dennis has added certain songs to set lists simply because of fan requests. You could probably even go so far as to say the idea for the "Lost Treasures" shows came from a fan outcry.
But if you were to go up to "The three babys" and say directly to them to knock it off and get back together because that is what the fans want you will be told to stick it somewhere.
Dennis will be polite and say (as he has many times in the past) that it is not his decision, and that if it was up to him they would all be together; I have no idea what the other 2 would say.
It doesn't matter what you say...you are not one of those 3 individuals so you have NO idea the actual feelings they have for one another.
It's like a divorce, and once things are settled and people have moved on with their life some stranger comes up and says "I want you to get back with your ex" it isn't happening.
Plus the way the record industry is I would doubt that even a Styx album WITH Dennis would achieve the same success as they have in the past.
It would do better than the Carrot and Big Bang, but that would be because there would be twice a bigger fan base (fans of both current "divisions" instead of just one) that would buy the album.
As far as how the current version of Styx looks and sounds I will say that personally I feel they do not look or sound as good as they could, and that they have in some ways damaged the "Styx" brand.
froy wrote:Of course you would thats why there the 3 babys they do not listen
BUT if enough people keep telling them over and over again with the point of telling them they willl never buy another thing from them they may listen. You hit them in there pocket books.

You just said they were going to tell us to stick it.
Its all a matter of how you approach the subject
If I ever see Keith Marks again you can bet I will have a word.

Thats a bunch of crap.
They did not treat Dennis like an ex anything he was just plotted out.

Even if the others reached out to Dennis with the idea, I'm sure the pain they caused him carries a lot of resentment with it that would not be easy to forgive.
