I'm also a Yes fan and I think it's a VERY good performance. Froy, exactly what do you not like about the performance other than the fact that TS is singing? The guitars were on, the harmonies were great, and the lead vocal performance was awesome.

Sadie, I usually enjoy your posts because you try to stay out of the petty BS...but this post is probably my favorite of all. As a cover singer, I can tell you that this is a line I tread on a regular basis, sometimes I go one way, sometimes another. It's really up to the individual and what she or he thinks best suits the song.

When you can sing as well as Tommy and Jack, I think any way they choose to sing the cover is fine with me. Their harmonies are beautiful.

I am one who generally prefers the original versions of songs, but when they are sung well by another performer, then I have no problem at all with it.

WHen BBT came out, your arguement was that 10 on Broadway was different because it was a solo album. Now Shaw does the same thing as a solo artist and he's run out of ideas?

From the short clips I've heard of the Shaw Blades album, it sounds pretty good.

10 on Broadway was a good album for Dennis, actually I wish if he wasn't going to record new music that he did more of the "10 on" theme. Rod Stewart is having a very successful back end of his career with the covers theme. When it gets down to it, I want to hear Dennis sing something. The same as I want to hear something new from Tommy - covers or not.

Well, I don't see any professional musician playing for free. Nature of the beast is if they are playing, they are being paid. Although in the videos you were criticizing they actually were playing for free - it's called charity.

Like it or not, any musician/entertainer who reaches the level of success that these men did (either together or solo) emphasises it's a business.

I am always amazed at how people can bend things to suit their own ideas. The myopia and double standards can be staggering.
