Fox News is reporting that Obama lured the boy into the balloon with an offer of free government funded healthcare.

Either way, the parents should be on their way to the electric chair. This is either a monstrous hoax or their kid is dead. Massive negligence on their part either way.

But for fucks sake... this is a child we are talking about here. If indeed the "box" fell, and the child was in it, he fell about 7,000 feet to his death. Christ, I bawled like a baby when I heard what happened to Eric Clapton's son (who fell out of a 30 something story window). My kids were that age at the time. I couldn't stop crying.
Empathy, people... empathy.

Yes, they can move very quick, granted. That means if you know they're playing in the back yard with a fucking inflatable mad scientist balloon contraption you don't so much as blink! That's no different than leaving them alone with the family rottweiler, going up to have sex while the fireplace is open and burning, or leaving a sharp knife on the ground with a kid crawling around.

I'm not saying that the parents are not culpable, they are. I would imagine they are flaying themselves over their lack of judgement and complete negligence. And at the the same time, I have empathy for them. I could not even imagine having to live after losing a child like that. Losing a child this young is hard enough, but this way....
Playitloudforme wrote:I guess I'm not thinking so much of the parents, but rather the sheer terror that child had. Parents have to learn to live with this. Either way, this thing sucks beyond all.

this is why I wait until things play out to feel things. Another case of sensationalized newscastingI really get tired of the media.
