Okay, let's just say that there was one night, one night only. Let's say the date was August 19, 2006, the place, Marcus Ampitheater, Milwaukee, WI. It's covered and outdoors, weather won't be an issue. Invite only, price $20.00, fans invited will mostly consist of die-hards and fans of the music of STYX, songs written and performed by Mr. Dennis DeYoung and Tommy Shaw. No other members from STYX, past or present will be there, no surprises. The back up band would be Dennis' band, especially since they know most of the songs :) And we have to have Kyle there

T-shirts, a Crystal Ball on front with a Roboto Mask inside - LOL

They will be performing 2 1/2 hours. The set list will be put together by the fans from the internet or sent in by snail mail.

1. If this was true, would you travel to Milwaukee to see this show (if you were invited - LOL)

2. What songs would you put together and the order.

I'll be posting this again in May, 2006 :)

I'll add my list tonight - yes Sadie and Bugsy, you may join in on this one :D

Gee Suite, Milwaukee is a whole 2 hours away for me.......hmmm, let me thinkIM THERE !!!!

But, If the show was 1,000 miles away, I'd have to wait and hope for the DVD.

Now......if it were up to ME, ( and no offense to anyone is intended )
this would be an all acoustic show....Just TS and DDY, Tommys 6 and 12 string guitars, Dennis with a piano, and their songs stripped to the basics. Maybe you could have an unplugged backup band for a part of the show.

This would be something never done before, and it wouldnt be at all like a Styx reunion...just 2 talented guys playing their music. WHAT they play could be entirely up to them......

I would definitely travel to see this one, if I could be assured there were no "special guest appearances" from either Gowan or JY.

I vote with Classic on this one. Excellent idea! I like the all-acoustic with the voices, and music, showcased.

Dennis and Tommy (and JY) have done this, technically, before -- for that VH1 unplugged session, for the Border's joint appearance, and, of course, when they have done a few guest appearances on TV and radio.

Now, let me see how that money tree is growing in my back yard and check the sky for pigs flying overhead.

Suite,

1. Yes, I would if I was invited.....But how many people can you bring with you is what I need to know???

2. I will think about a set list and get back to you....Of coarse with the marketing idea with the Roboto mask in side the Crystal Ball, 2 songs are already determined...

Yikes. I'd pay just about anything to see everyone perform together for the sheer novelty alone, not even to mention the great music that would come out of it. But hey, to each his own, I guess.

Of course MOST of the people, if not all would be invited, from this board. Each person would be able to bring 3 guests. I would have all my family and close friends there - LOL Yes, my kids would be there, including my little "Dennis the Menace". :?

I can't help pay for rooms or transportation, but I will have discounts at a few motels just outside of Milwaukee.

It's so hard to decide the songs that I want and the order that I want them in. I want it to be perfect.

Maybe part of the show could be acoustic and then they can "rock" out with the band.

How many hours did I say? UGH Too many songs, not enough time.

Okay, if I were to have this concert, let's say in 2006  This is the way I would like it!!

The stage is dark, a light comes on to a grand piano/keyboards (I haven't decided yet and how much a piano tuner costs - LOL), you see Dennis sitting there. Another light comes on, there's Tommy sitting on a chair holding a guitar.

Just the two of them:

Haven't We Been Here Before
Paradise
Crystal Ball
Boat on The River

A.D. 1928 - band starts to come out to their instruments while this starts then goes into.........

Rockin' The Paradise
Superstars
Castle Walls
Mademoiselle (love this song)
Why Me (that's what I want to know, why me?) LOL
Lights
I'm Okay
Don't Let It End

Intermission

Fooling Yourself
Grand Illusion (?)
Pieces of Eight
Sing For The Day
Borrowed Time
Suite Madame Blue
Best Thing
You Need Love (?)
Blue Collar Man
Queen of Spades
Renegade
Goodbye Roseland (I'll be crying and crying and crying)
A.D. 1958

Encore:

Too Much Time On My Hands (clap, clap - LOL)
Lady
Come Sail Away

I'd pay a LOT to see this show!!! And travel to Milwaukee - LOL

If there was a show, one show, with DeYoung and Shaw. How many tickets do you think would sell?

Right now with STYX pretty much killing there own name I would say 1200 The band is dead with Dennis or without there is no magic lineup anymore, JY and Shaw ruined that

Seriously, 1200 seats? With heavy promotion and VH1 Classic?? Really?

Huh, I figured more.

Shaw's gone - February 2006. He'll work with Jack and then work on many other projects

If they could Promote heavily AND use the name STYX in the promo's and the show was in the heart of Styxland ( Chicago or Milwaukee ) I'm thinking 6,000-8,000 fans.

Nope, it's all in the timing and the timing is 2006! Shaw needs this.

Shaw and Blades are going to promote their cd together, they will perform together, they will appear on television together, etc, etc, etc.

Then look out for DeYoung & Shaw :)

Should be interesting, especially if they had a camera follow them through the process until the night of the concert.

If this happens then look for Dennis back in Styx for sure
IF JY does not want to be part of it no big deal
He can work at McDonalds for all I care
He cant sing anyway
But it wont happen next year no way,
I know the crystal ball say's there may be a buzz aboutthis but I do not agree

No, Dennis will not be back in Styx. JY is the main one that has the control. After all his recent interviews and viewpoints, it won't happen. Sorry.

Yes, it will happen -DeYoung & Shaw, I'm predicting next year, it's all in the timing. Do I see another bet coming on??? Just bring it on.

I told you what the "Crystal Ball" says and the buzz, it will happen. You'll see
