Is It Financially Worth It?

I gotta go with Froy on this one! DDY is no opener!

What he should consider is co-headlining; like Carrot Styx does. I like that they tour /w REO and the like. Sometimes they open, other times REO does. But both acts get pretty much equal time.

DDY could do the same thing. Not sure who he could co-headline with though.
Lou Graham comes to mind. Isn't he solo touring these days?

It's tough coming up with someone that would compliment his style. Most of the acts from that era (Heart, Journey, etc) have gone back to their Hard Rock roots.

Steve Perry would--of course--be an ideal choice (were he willing to tour!).

Billy Joel also comes to mind, but I think he's done w/ touring as well.

You're right DeeJay, I'm in a very caring mood right now and he just seems so tense with his postings. He really needs to lighten up :)

By the way DeeJay, what's the next concert you're going to?

It's been and is being considered, maybe for a show or a short tour. We'll have to see.

We have tickets for Judas Priest in Milwaukee. I had a blast the last time that I've seen them and that was with Ripper.

I'm also planning to see Rob Thomas  , maybe the Moody Blues and maybe the Musical Box

I'd like to see a show in Chicago, I love Chicago!!

How about a Dennis DeYoung/Steve Perry musical version of Grumpy Old Men tour....they can compare bogus hip injury/light sensitivity stories.

LOL! However, I might change the name to "How the Songs are SUPPOSED to Sound" Tour.

Of course, it would not preclude Dennis from wearing extra dark, extra heavy sunglasses nor Steve from using a walker onstage. Might be interesting visually!!! :P

I'll ask the question again...how does anyone know how well he sells. We've heard descriptions of a few concerts and the crowd attendance. As for entertainment factor, I guess it's subjective.

I could point out from my vantage point, Styx didn't have em exactly jumping up and down in Elkhorn either.

People usually get a mindset and stick with it I've noticed. I think both Dennis and Styx usually do well with their venues more often than not.

Dee Jay, my response here is not meant at you, but rather those that continually only see what they want. And it's pointless to continue to argue with them. Like a steel trap.

Peace

No problem, Sadie, I know what you mean.... 8)

From my advantage point at the Dennis concert in Rockford (I was in the front row sometimes looking back), I noticed the crowd was mixed, some were there to listen to the music (basicly sit down and listen people) and some were singing along and cheering, we had one person near us screaming....I thought the crowd applause was pretty good....Also important to point out is that John Waite recieved the same crowd entusiasm and applause as Dennis did...

As far as attendance, It looked like a full crowed to me with not that many empty seats....

I hope that helps a little....

I found the same to be true around where we were. Full seats in our area (10th row), everyone singing along. After each song, many stood and hollered, then sat down to listen to the next song.

One thing about a Dennis DeYoung concert is a lot of people come to listen to the voice. Hard to do that if you are screaming your head off non-stop.

Just my take.

This one went over my head, what's that suppose to mean?

Bugsy, I keep going back to the HOB show where the crowd was so different with the Lost Treasures show. It was like night and day.

I guess I'm still a little disappointed that "Queen of Spades" wasn't played either, in Rockford. And to add that "First Time" wasn't played, I lost one of the many bets I had with Froy - LOL

Heh, heh, heh, she thinks I am tense. It is not *I* who am tense. It is not *I* who needs to relax. Didn'tcha hear'em? Didn'tcha see the CROWDS? Oh, my beloved mouse, how I love to push your buttons...and your shiny ball on my mousepad. How I love to clean my mouse ball, squeaky clean. You're not like the others. You like the same things I do. Boiled haggis, blood pudding, cow tongue! We're not hitchhiking anymore! We're RIDING!

I really wanted your opinion on who you think Dennis should open for, seriously.

Okay....that was something unique to read after putting in a 14 hour work day....

Hey Dennis got close....for the Chicago Policeman's benefit he sat next to Peter Cetera...six degrees in there somewhere.

Yep. They tour the same venues as Journey. That's why I say he would OPEN. Dennis is no where close to co-headlining with a band like Chicago.

Now, Lou Graham maybe...but, I don't see him getting anywhere by doing that...the crowds wouldn't be much different then they are now.

Yep, he'll get his soon.

Well, if we'd stop going to all these Dennis concerts, I'd have you and the other's surprises done  After each concert I keep adding stuff, plus I told you girls that you'd receive your stuff within 5 years - LOL. I think we'll be on a Dennis break soon, except maybe the Nashville concert. You and the others will get a really nice Dennis/Styx/Suite package. Patience young one - LOL Hey, I finally have the DVD burner, now you'll be able to have your very own Dennis interviews!! :D

Do you wanna touch my mous ball? Go ahead. Just try it. Fondle my mouse ball. Who knows, you may like it. You don't know what will happen, do you? Maybe something good. Maybe something bad. You just don't know, do ya? I guess we'll never know...cuz you're not gonna touch it, are you?

Oh, how long can froy hold out? How can he possibly resist the diabolical urge to fondle Monker's mouse ball. Will his tortured mind give in to its uncontrollable desires? Can he resist the temptation to fondle the mouse ball that, even now, beckons him even closer? Will he succumb to the maddening urge? At the MERE...FONDLING...of a SINGLE...MOUSE BALL! The beeyootiful SHINY ball! The jolly CANDY-LIKE ball! Will he hold out, folks? CAN he hold out?

Okie Dokie Monker, you're way over the edge. You're beyond creepy and it's really creepy that you're coming on to Froy.

It's kind of sad that you have one little mouse ball, I feel sorry for you. Poor guy. It must of been hard to be in the boy's locker room growing up with that problem.

I don't know how Dennis is singing these days, as for Perry, Augeri sings the songs more the way they're supposed to be sang than Perry has since
the Frontiers tour, or maybe the Escape tour. Please excuse the Journey remarks on this Styx forum. For some Styx content, I'll have to say that I haven't warmed up to Gowan's voice, yet I wasn't a big Dennis fan either.
