Were The Streets Have No Name

Finally got a chance to see this years U2 show and all I can say is what an event that was. You gotta love it when 20 thousand people just rise up to higher and higher levels througout the show.
I have never seen such a force of energy like I witnessed during
Streets Have No Name my god the building was just lit up.
From the stage design to the light show to the almost perfect setlist
I was totally impressed, I have not seen them since 1987 and Im glad I went last night. Next is Roger and Paul.

Bono and his 3 diciples have just finished a week here in Toronto.
Have read 2 reviews and a friend of mine saw them.You better be ready for Bono, saving the world in massive dozes.He is prancing around totally in love with himself and probably expects sainthood before the North American tour is over.
Having seen U2 myself way back I can now see it was coming.Sure the guy's got good intentions,but yapping so much that you could have at least 3 songs played.Bang for the buck.
Wait for him spitting water all over the stage and then have some poor kuli cleaning up after him. :roll:

I've never seen U2 in concert, but have heard it's a religious experience. I have a friend of mine in a band here in town who is friend's with U2's tour manager. He's followed them around a bit and come back with AMAZING stories. Bono is usually separated from the rest of the band on tour for obvious security reasons. The band stays in a hotel while Bono's people scout out high end houses in the city they are playing and pay the owners to leave and let Bono stay there for their stay. U2 also has a spiritual advisor who apparently circles the venues both before and during the shows, feeling the aura or vibe or whatever. Their tours are quite the production!

I've never seen U2 but I just recieved two boots from the current tour and they sound incredable, it soulds like the shows would be a total blast!

Religious experience with out a doubt.
After they played SHNN the guy next to me said those exact words.
5 sold out shows in Chicago for these guys WOW

Never cared for Sonny and the gang.

I would take Gowan's voice, and Styx's music anyday of the week over You Two's.

I wonder how Sonny would sound singing Come Sail Away????

I confess, not a fan of U2. Never did see the appeal.

Gowan's voice...no. Styx music yes.

Ack...don't even suggest such an idea Yogi!

While not a big fan of U2 (You, Too??

), I believe their concerts have become events in every sense of the word. I kinda like the old Bono-with-a-mullet-Irish-protest-period of U2 myself. Their recent efforts seem studied and, well, a bit soulless. But that is just me.

ALL that said, I would imagine their concerts are truly great and every single guy in that group is an outstanding musician.

Glad you got to experience the event, Froy.

And Yogi, let's leave Gowan out of any discussion that involves "singing ability".

#1 shouldnt the words "lack of" appear in the above sentance ?

#2 Shouldnt you be on a highway out of Dodge about now ???

LOL, Classic. No. I worded that correctly. When you are talking about "lack of singing ability", Gowan would be right in there. When you are talking about "singing ability", I don't think his name should come up.

And I AM out of Dodge. We are where they evacuate people TO!

Likely we will get high winds, but not, hopefully, Cat. 5 type this far inland.

Glad you enjoyed the show, froy. That's what it's all about, enjoying what you like. I've enjoyed U2's music for many years (mainly the mainstream stuff) but have never felt compelled to see them live.
