The "someone that many people here can't stop talking about" WAS the radar screen.

Oh brother...

I guess I "took the bait." LOL...My "answer" to Suite's question practically gave away the "answer" that Sadie gave. I didn't think it needed to be clarified, esp. since it was fairly obvious I was being sarcastic. ;-)

FWIW, I miss Glen's presence tremendously - both on stage and in the studio. I thought his contributions were among some of the best Styx has EVER (and I do mean EVER) seen. His stage presence was only a BONUS compared to what talent he really had but the position didn't allow for. Shows are NOT the same for me, even though I still LOVE going. Lawrence and Todd continue to BLOW ME AWAY, and Ricky seems very suited for the role he fills, as well as being genuinely nice - still and all, NOT the same. Never will be. Do I complain? No. I think I publically mentioned being bummed about three times shortly after he left. I've said I miss him more than a few times, but do I rehash it day in, day out, bash Ricky, bash Glen, bash Tommy and JY for not being able to provide whatever it was Glen was looking for? Is it my mission to beat my chest until everyone and their cousin is either in agreeance with me or ready to throttle me because all I do is whine that my personal favorite line-up has changed? No. That's life. That's rock n' roll. That's show business.

For the record, I know there is a difference in the "history." I honestly didn't think it needed to be explained, least of all HERE. But on the same token, how long will some people in the South continue to hang their confederate flags?

Which is fair since you are a fan of Glen's (understatement of course). I would hope my posts aren't viewed as whining and beating my chest. I'm perfectly happy with where things are now...with the exception of the lack of acceptance by many/some fans depending on your point of view.

And hey, I think Glen wasn't given enough to do with either stint. I wish him well with what he is doing now.

And, for the record, most of us understand that. Sometimes some of us like to tweak and kid. And I fully understand that it is who shoots the arrow and who gets pierced by it that causes the reactions.

I agree with Sadie. Of any of the people who have come and gone in Styx, Glen certainly was one of the most talented and underused, in some cases.
I think his, and DDY's, talents are being used to their best effect in the here and now, i.e., as solo performers. My opinion only here.

LordofdaRing says:

Hey Suite I will take your free Stones tickets. Mick Jagger is still incredible today. Now of course they need somebody on the payroll to check Keith Richard's pulse before the show...

Sure. The last time I seen the Stones was years and years ago at Alpine Valley. I swore that I'd never see the Stones again or go to Alpine Valley again. Just terrible.

Poor Keith. Does he still play pretty good?

I love queen. I think Paul Rodgers is a great vocalist, but listening to the songs the absence of Freddie is all too apparent. Don't get me wrong Rodgers does a fine job, lending his vocal styles to give Queen a different edge. But its not Queen.

I will give a full review. We just got great tickets to the Queen/Paul Rodgers show at the Hollywood Bowl.

I am a huge Queen fan, once camping out 7 nights to get front row tickets to a concert. I am not convinced they will stage a full scale tour in 2006. So at the moment the only way to see them is in New York or LA.
