OT - New Recent Cd's

Postby SuiteMadameBlue » Wed Sep 28, 2005 7:55 am

Has anyone bought any new, old or recent cd's lately?

I just purchased one of the best cd's that I ever heard. Unbelievable!!!
It's Guilty Pleasures by Barbra Streisand with Barry Gibb. You can go on Amazon and hear/watch the video of a song.

Great music. I heard this cd over 11 times on the roadtrip and each time it just sounded more incredible :)

Before this purchase, I think the only new one that I bought was the Rob Thomas cd.

I'm waiting for a few more cd's that will be coming soon.

Oh My Gosh, I just spit my water all over the computer screen!! LOL

I'll have to think about what I post before I post it. I didn't realize how funny all this sounded after re-reading it. Yes, it was great time on the Canadian highways with Froy driving and Barbra and Barry cranked up loud - LOL

There were so many stories to be told, I guess we're just saving the best stories for last (I think) - LOL

Weezer, Crossfade, Bowling For Soup, Green Day (latest releases) and the 10 Things I Hate About You have been my last few purchases. I like them all. Crossfade is great, I just love Weezer to death, BFS is catchy as hell and I can't help but like them, and Green Day is well, Green Day!!!!!

One of my "lurker" friends on here said they were going to burn all those cd's and a few others for me. I'm just waiting to receive them.

I'll let you know what I think.

I love the cassette tape that you made. I LOVE how you added the old STYX songs on there. I can't tell you what hearing "Born For Adventure" does to me when I'm listening to the live version  Sheesh, there's just something about hearing the live version of THAT song.

The only CD that I have purchased in the past two plus months is Dream Theatres Octavarium. It is a very good CD. It contains the song Sacrificed Sons which I feel might be the best song they have ever done.

I do not like Octavarium as well as Images and Words, but it is equal to their Train Of Thought CD.

Suite really pushes this band, and she is 100% correct they are REALLY REALLY good and have put out some AWESOME music and CD's. Octavarium is without a doubt worth its sticker price.

The only other new music I have listened to recently is Foreigners Mr Moonlight. I purchased this CD probably 4 to 5 years ago and just took it out of the wrapper a little over a month ago.

It is an AWESOME CD!!! The song Real World is truly incredible. I have no clue if this CD even sold 5,000 copies but it is one of Foreigners best. The entire CD is good.

I love Dream Theater, just a really great band. I know I mentioned this before, but at the last concert I was in the front row wearing my "Roboto" shirt. I got the thumbs up from the band (or they laughed-LOL) can't remember, but anyway, I was given a couple guitar picks and at the end of the show they handed me the set list, which I thought was very nice. There were only 1 female to about 150 guys, again great concert  oh and great music.

I'll have to check out Octavarium, thanks for recommending it. I love when everyone recommends cd's on here!! Thanks :)

If everyone has time, you have to play the song/video that's featured for the Barbra & Barry cd.

Here's the link:

You can hear the song "Stranger In A Strange Land", I can't stop playing it. GREAT song!!

Yes, excellent song. If you like the style of music/singing on Octavarium and Train of Thought you can check out James Labrie's solo cd called Elements of Persuasion...sounds a lot like stuff off those cds

I do agree. Disturbed is just about the only one of those alt metal bands I like. Although they sometimes border on the rap/rock they at least have some melody

I'm getting ito BLACKMORES NIGHT in a big way at the mo'. Really hated the first 2 albums, couldn't get into the medieval thing at all, but FIRES AT MIDNIGHT and GHOST OF A ROSE are some of Blackmores best work ever. Candice Nights vocals have improved 100% over the last 2 cd's, her version of "Diamonds and Rust" is just fantastic as is the title track off the last cd "Ghost of a Rose"
Also got the new JOURNEY CD mmmmmmmmmm it has it's moments , Faith in the Heartland stands out as a great song, but will have to give it a few more spins
It is STYX it says so on Larrys keyboards
