Tireseus (Castle Walls)

There was a mini-series on Scifi for Hercules. Tireseus played a large role...I thought about the song when she (or he, depending on what in and out bits you are looking at) was first shown.

In the Odessey mini-series from some years ago, he (or she) also showed up and was played by Christopher Lee...Odesseus had to cross the river Styx to chat with him.

Also, Hercules had to visit the river Styx to fight Cerberos, the three headed dog that gaurds the gates to Hell.

I knew Tireseus was part of the story for the Odessey, but did not know about Hercules...unless the scifi writers just made it up instead of following the orignal tale.

I believe there is a tale of Tiresias prophesizing to Amphyitryon of all of Heracles (greek spelling) great forthcoming deeds/adventures when he was an infant....The visit to Hades to get the Ceberus was the 12 labor that Eurystheus set for him (hera agreed to make heracles immortal after he performed a certain number of labors)
In college, I had a mythology class and had to write a short article on a reference to a some myth character, so I did Tiresias in 'Castle Walls'...

It's actually Oogie Boogie from "Nightmare Before Christmas"
