Dennis' NEW SONG - Released Next Week

Postby SuiteMadameBlue » Wed Oct 26, 2005 10:26 am

Dennis has a NEW Christmas song that is being released next week on I-Tunes and at radio stations. Rounder Records is the record company releasing it. I just heard the song and I personally think it was un-fricken believable!! It's about 3:40 minutes long, it's totally Dennis!!!

I think the title is "When I Hear A Christmas Song".

My "good friend" on the phone is saying that this information is coming from the same person (which is me) that also loves "Unfinished Song", "First Time" and "Hello God".

There you go :)

It will be a released as a single. I'm not sure if they're for sale or just promotional use. I'll find that out. I wish there was a way I could've taped it. I'm not good with technology.

I'll have to look into it. I have Rob Thomas' Christmas single cd!! "A New York Christmas" what a great song too!!

I heard the Christmas song a few times Saturday at his show. Very, very good song. They played it before the show started with a few other songs by the likes of James Taylor and Steely Dan; you know pre-show music. Nothing was said at all about the song by him during the concert.

I, too, would love to read a review of his show, if you have time.

Hi. I will post a review real soon for you all. I will say it was great and it was my first time seeing him as a solo act. He is a showman, that is for sure!

That Christmas song was great though. If it gets any push at all on radio it might be big for him. You know it's him from the start of the song. I look forward to you all hearing it. I think most will like it a lot and some of you will say you don't but will be singing it to yourself in no time!

I thought it was GREAT too. I heard a "touch" of "Beneath The Moon", just a little touch. I'm so excited!!

It is. It will be playing in Kansas City and Atlantic City next week.

You know it's him from the start of the song.

Totally Dennis!!!

I look forward to you all hearing it. I think most will like it a lot and some of you will say you don't but will be singing it to yourself in no time!

I totally agree!! I still have goosebumps!!

Well, um, let's see, to be honest, TO ME, it sounds like more of an older traditional Christmas song that I grew up with. It's more of a ballad and very radio friendly and totally Dennis. I LOVED it right away!!! But then again that's me!!

One of the other songs that I heard months ago for his next album, is a rockin' song, kind of between "Come Sail Away" & "Pieces Of Eight" and another song kind of mixed, I just can't put my finger on it. I LOVED THIS SONG!!!!!! I know this one will be one of my favorites, if I could only remember the name - LOL I also wish I knew how to record things - UGH

Xmas song? Hell where is the halloween song first. Seriously it would be great to include a DDY song in the rotation of the usual Xmas music on the light stations down here, not to many classic Xmas songs recorded in the last few years....Vince Vance did a great one called All I want for Xmas is you.

JY could do the barking dogs version of Jingle Bells or any classic chipmunks yule time charols....

Or are becoming Grandparents - OY

Like I said, I can't believe Donny Osmond is a Grandpa
I feel soooooooooo old!!

I'm trying to see if there's another outlet that his song will be released.

I remember seeing Dennis do "I'll Be Home For Christmas" back in '95. He has the voice for this kind of thing, so I'm sure it will be really good. I will admit that it's not exactly what I was hoping for, but hopefully we'll get that album someday.

I thought it was really good :) I loved his version of "I'll Be Home For Christmas", was that on Regis or the Today Show? I can't remember, I have it on DVD, too lazy to look.

He'll have his new album/cd out kind of soon, but not real soon (LOL). He's been playing one of the new songs from that new album/cd at recent soundchecks.

Dennis was in Nashville a few weeks ago to do a PBS drive before tix went on sale, and during that he sang a small piece of "When I Hear A Christmas Song". No music, no arrangement, just him singing the melody line, and it was fantastic. If the recording came out well, this could be a good piece of exposure for him. From what I heard it's a great song, I hope it does well.
