Remasters?

Postby ParallelTime » Fri Dec 16, 2005 4:43 am

When in the world are the Styx discs going to be remastered?

Some bands have released multiples sets of remasters, DVD-Audio, etc...

and nobody cared..............

( and before anyone jumps on me, I bought a copy, so I had some music I knew to use to judge the format )

it would be interesting to know how many copies they sold in this format.....it does sound much better on a decent sound system that the original release, certain parts jump out vs the regular CD.

The Anthhology and The Wooden Nickel Recordings are all remastered. But if the label doesn't feel they can make up the costs of remastering the albums, then they won't.

True, but you never know if a really good producer will be going back in the studio to remaster the old Styx catalogue.....

I'd like to see some remasters with unreleased stuff if possible. Is there any unreleased stuff from the different sessions out there?

Since I can't remember and I'm too lazy to check the old posts, I thought there was still unreleased material from EOTC 2 and songs from 1981 sitting in a vault, studio, basement or shed somewhere. I have emails and notes too somewhere  with some of the information on from a few years ago. I need one of my Dennis/Styx friends to come over and go through all my Styx stuff - LOL

There are unreleased Styx songs somewhere out there.

There have been reports of unreleased stuff out there...however nothing has been officially said...other than one interview JY did where he made mention of some stuff...very nebulous.

Here's hoping though

This is every Styx fan's dream. Would that it would happen someday!

I would love to know the sales figures on these two. It seems that, online at least, the consistent best seller for Styx is the Greatest Hits album.

I wish we had sales figures on all these albums. The Greatest Hits is doing great!!

STYX GREATEST HITS 11/17/00 A&M P ALBUM GROUP Std

I know Dennis' double live cd is doing great. Once I find out those numbers, I'll post them. I'll probably know the second week of January when they have the 2005 sales totals. His Soundstage hit Gold in Canada too.

There catalog just hasn't been re-certified in awhile.
remember the A&M classic CD (the purple album)
STYX CLASSICS 10/18/94 A&M G ALBUM GROUP Std
This was the greatest hits before the "styx greatest hits" CD came out and most likely sold a couple million too.

I bought this way back in the late 80s (88?). It's what really got me back into Styx after I'd kinda drifted onto other things and was starting to buy CDs.

I still hold this disc near and dear to my heart.
