Lyrics by Don Black. Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Show: "Tell Me on a Sunday" 1979/"Song and Dance" 1982.

A demo was made by Dennis DeYoung for 10 On Broadway. Did not make the cut.

Was never meant for public release but we all know how these things go.

I still LOVE the song. I think I have one of the promo cd's of it, or a different one or two from his 10 on Broadway.

"Music Time" is a fun song!! LOL

Hey, you heard about that?? I didn't tell anyone!!

What can I say about one of my favorite singers? I do love the song "Tell Me On A Sunday"!!! "Music Time" is a fun song, I giggle at the video, it's so like the 80's!!!

Believe it or not, there are a couple, well, several songs that I don't care for that Dennis sings - ACK, can't stand them. No one has mentioned them yet so I didn't make the comments or if they did, I probably just didn't read the posts , ha ha - LOL

I still prefer it to the unreleased version he did of Pinball Wizard. Now that for me, should stay unreleased. A wise decision.

Darren, there are more than just 2 DDY songs!! LOL

High Crimes & Misdemeanors - ACK, I can't stand the chorus on this one. Can't stand the "Hip hop hip hop-cracy hip hop"!!!

High Time - Is just okay. It's not a song that I have to put in everyday and listen to - LOL

The ones that make me cringe

Boys Will Be Boys
Fire
High Crimes and Misdemeanors
Carrie Ann (Word to DDY - never write a love song and give it the same name as one of your daughters... I could never get past that).

Flip Side: Songs that Don't Get Their Due

Earl of Roseland
Lonely People (am I the only one who thinks the lyric to this is PHENOMENAL?)
Ave Maria
Paradise (Styx)

I agree with you largely here, Ash. "Boys" is likely the worst song EVER! ACK!! I would add the Cornerstone version of "First Time."

I had to listen to "Fire" to get into it. I find his vocals on it astonishing. I think that was his intention in this cover. He gets up into the strastosphere in parts of this song.

We have talked about "Lonely People" a few times here. This song has not only amazing lyrics, but I think the musical arrangement is fantastic too. The whole song is a very accomplished piece of work.

I could never understand why Lonely People was not played live in concert......it is a killer song....... one of the last decent songs DDY wrote apart from Roseland, Show Me The Way and Desert Moon.

Whats even stranger - is this tune seems to fit in so well with the idea of a symphonic show. Seeing this song performed live is somewhat of a pipe dream tho since it's really an obscure song (in that it's not a song you think about when most people think of Styx).

I totally agree with "Lonely People" and "Paradise"!!

Wouldn't that be great if he added "Lonely People" to his later shows in 2006???? I know there's talk about adding a song from the Wooden Nickel era, one from his solo and another song that he sang with Styx.

I know Dennis and the band are practicing the "new" songs for the Canada and New Jersey shows now.

Because of the horn section
They would have had to bring one to each show
Same with WHY ME .
