Is Chuck going to make a surprise appearance at the shows with Glen ?
I hope so lets bury that hatchet Chuck and lets play some dates with the 91 lineup , That will stick in JY's crawl.
Chuck is the trump card he joins in and its STYX

Froy buddy, I think it would be nice, but don't get your hopes up. Better to be Pro Dennis than anti JY. Granted it is a philosophy that I seldom follow, but do as I say not as I do.

I doubt Chuck will be at the New Jersey shows. You're starting to sound like me hoping that he will. There would be 3 bass players up on stage - LOL

If by chance the stars, planets and moon line up in a funky pattern and Chuck would join Dennis and Glen on stage, they still will not be able to use the name Styx or will they be able to use the name in the title if a tour would happen. JY will always own the name Styx no matter what happens.

It seems that we tend to forget we are the select few on this board. Styx fans past and present who monitor every move buy the band and its former members. The casual fan of Styx or even just a fan of music from that era couldn’t care less. The selling point here is the name Styx. Most people don’t know or care who is in the band. They go to a Styx concert because they know the name and like the music. Look at all the people going to see Queen. They just want to hear the music. If Dennis were to drop the name Styx from his adds his attendance would be cut in half.

Froy, "hate" is such a strong word!! We'll have to see what happens, if anything.

That is SO cool, I'm one of the "select few"!! That's makes me feel good all over :)

Styx fans past and present who monitor every move buy the band and its former members. The casual fan of Styx or even just a fan of music from that era couldn’t care less.

Actually I'm on the other Classic Rock (private) boards too (LOL) and I'm surprised that a lot of these fans of music know a lot about Styx and their moves too. There's a lot of people that care especially after the airing of Behind the Music. Styx is pretty interesting.

The selling point here is the name Styx. Most people don’t know or care who is in the band. They go to a Styx concert because they know the name and like the music. Look at all the people going to see Queen. They just want to hear the music.

LOL, that's actually funny, but yet kind of sad!! The reason I'm saying that is I had a friend over yesterday and we were watching the NYE with the current line-up (thank you SpaceAce for the DVD) I was telling her who was in the band and my mind went totally blank  on Ricky!! I keep forgetting about him, which is kind of sad. I feel bad for him. As for Queen, I wouldn't mind seeing them, they're coming into town soon.

If Dennis were to drop the name Styx from his adds his attendance would be cut in half.

I have to disagree with you there, especially in Canada!! He's pretty much a household name in some of those parts in Quebec. Especially after his Star Academie appearance. Which still gives me goosebumps!!!

Lets all walk around our places of employment today and start asking people….”What do you think of JY?” Most people won’t even know what or who you’re talking about. Ask them what they think of Dennis DeYoung……..same answer. Ask them if they would like free tickets to see Styx and at least half would say yes. They don’t know, they don’t care, they know the name Styx and like the music.

We know and for some reason we care but most people don't.

JY has never been anything but pleasant arouund me both on stage and off, and he has never given me reason to hate him or even dislike him. His business with Styx is just that: His. Business.
If you hate someone because they had a hand in changing your favorite rock band, you have serious issues.

Sorry I don't work, I sit at home reading my computer watching my soap operas and eating bon bons - LOL 8)

BUT, I do wear my Styx or my Dennis t-shirt when I work out. At the gym where I'm at people do ask me about the "latest". That's only because I give the 411 on Styx in the first place. The teachers at my kids school pretty much know the 411 too, so I can go up to quite a few and ask them what they think of JY - LOL

LOL, not in MY town!! I'm pretty sure that at least half of my town know who Dennis DeYoung is (LOL) and also my former suburb where I lived!! And add 1/4 of Southeastern Wisconsin. I have his television interview still running on cable since July. Part 2 is airing right now. I've been getting pretty many emails about that show!! When he comes back up to Wisconsin, maybe twice this summer, I'm sure it will be pretty crowded!!

Ask them if they would like free tickets to see Styx and at least half would say yes. They don’t know, they don’t care, they know the name Styx and like the music.

Of course people would love free tickets! I love free tickets, I don't care who's playing, I love going anywhere that has free tickets.

Everyone loves Styx!!!

I totally agree with all this.

I agree with you, Chicago, for the most part. I do believe that the highest profile name from Styx is Dennis DeYoung, but it most certainly depends upon the area of the country as to how well they know him. Most people simply know the band name and no more, but that is likely true with most bands save for a very few of the elites, and even then, most people know the lead singer and no one else.

JY's been great with me too in person!! That I can't complain about at all. Same with the other guys in the band. That's why I always liked Glen. He was super in person and I could never "dislike" him because of that.

BUT, I personally don't like the negativity with some of his (JY)interviews and "things" that have become personal to me. That's just my opinion on my feelings. I personally don't like to see anyone hurt, especially friends. I turn the tables too and I actually feel for the other guys too on some of the "things" that happened.

I personally don't "hate" anyone, well except Don Majkowski- ACK!! Oh and add that creepy Burger King guy!!

I think for the most part, the majority of people do not care who is in the band, who was in the band, who will be in the band. The band is no longer truly a household name. It's members were seldom known, even back in their heyday.

I don't hate anyone. I have opinions on things based on what I've heard and read, but since I am not personally involved, I see no point in hating anyone. It's between these men...good or bad.

There are of course fans who do know and care, and that's great, but to the majority of the populace, Styx is a band who had some really good tunes way back when. Nothing more, nothing less.

In the UK it is Tommy who is known most from Styx as his Girls With Guns videos were always played and for his work with DY.

But if you was to go in a rock club and mention Styx they would go yeah love the music or hate the music but if you was to ask a majority of these people who TS,JY or DDY were they would look at you with blank faces......

Darren, I know you're not in the UK anymore, but you do know that Styx will be going back there this summer, right?

They'll be teaming up with a few bands, it's on the MR front page.

I guess it just depends where you live for knowing Dennis, Tommy or JY by name.

Okay, apparently there are a few people here who seem to have some information that they think is true. My guess is that there was a proposal on the table to bring Dennis back into the fold for a show or two and every one agreed except JY. Since he is one of the owners of the name he has the power to stop it from happening. Maybe I’m way off here and if something like that is being discussed among board members here I have a feeling it is false information or someone is not getting the whole story. We all know how rumors can get distorted

What if………… No, I’m not talking about Tommy’s song I was wondering if maybe the idea of Dennis being involved in a show or two had come up and also maybe some involvement in the next Styx CD. I really don’t think Dennis would be willing to tour with them right now. He would never agree to that schedule but I wouldn’t mind seeing him pop in for a show here and there. If everyone agreed to that and JY said no then I would not be happy with JY. But like I said earlier, I think there is more to it. :?

Not true. From what I understand that was not the case to bring Dennis back at all from any current member of the band and it wasn't brought up to the table

From what I understand, JY is the main contact person in the group Styx. I understand that he is the one that will and can make any final decisions. I could be wrong, but that is my understanding. I don't think any current members of Styx are even talking about bringing Dennis back into any type of line up with the group Styx.

I will tell you that NO ONE is getting the whole story on this board. There are many sides to each story and to be honest, every day there is something brewing in the world of Styx.

In fact, here are more Styx concert dates:

02-25-2006 Indio, CA
03-24-2006 Shreveport, LA
04-07-2006 Rama, ON
04-08-2006 Rama, ON
