Postby Leesa » Sat Jan 21, 2006 11:34 pm

ahhh a few years back I gave away about 30 albums..yes I said albums lol, I'm kinda mad that I did now, I gave them for free to my daughters friends mom, "mum" if I'm speaking proper English lol.
What was in your album collection?
Mine included...
Ted Nugent, Cat Scratch Fever
Peter Frampton, Frampton Comes Alive
Pat Benatar,
BTO
Kiss, Destroyer
Fleetwood Mac, Rumours
Chicago, Greatest Hits
Styx, greatest hits (loved Styx but didn't have a lot of their music back then)
Boston,
REO, Hi Infidelity
Jimmy Buffett,
Billy Joel,
The Beatles, Red and Blue double albums..I've forgotten the name
Foreigner, 4
Kansas, Point Of No Return
Zeppelin
The Who (peeing on the wall album lol can't remember the title)anyone?
Steely Dan, Aja
Eagles....all of them I think lol
Queen
Grease
Stayin Alive
Barry Manilow

NOW THE EMBARRASSING ONES .....
The Go Go's
Blondie
The Partridge Family
does anyone remember the little kid that sang with them...and he made an album and one of his songs were "say hey Willie" about Willie Mays....and "The Bicycle song, this kid was so cute. I think his name was Ricky something....

I find it interesting that you have Barry Manilow listed in your main group and the Go-Go's in your "embarrassing" group. :?

For what it's worth, I own cd's by both.

I think the only picture disk I have is the Pieces of Eight one. I'd like to get that one framed. I'll have to see if I have more in one of my Styx boxes, I know I wouldn't have any from any other group, just my Styx, Styx, Styx and Styx!!

Like what? I am vey curious to see what is in your collection.

I still have over 300 albums. But growing up in the 80's, I don't have many of what I would call 'essential' albums. But I do have every Journey album released. I have Paradise Theater. I have the complete Cheap Trick catalog on vinyl. I have the first 3 Def Leppard records, many Heart records, etc.

I still have my albums. Threw away all my cassettes, though.

I have some Aldo Nova, Donnie Iris, Journey (of course), Triumph, Sammy, VH, Bon Jovi, Crue. Some of the weirder ones I have are Scandal, Til Tuesday, Missing Persons.

I have several boxes of albums down in the basement. Many have been replaced by cd's of course. Kind of nice to look at the album covers though...at least you got a better view of the artwork. LOL

I am (very) slowly working on transferring a bunch of my vinyl to CD. The stuff I still really want to listen to. I got these really cool CD-r's that look like records, with vinyl ridges and everything. When I get my new scanner (my old one died in the move last year) I will continue to scan the artwork and make all the labels as well. It takes a while, but I love the end result!

Geez, Dave, by the time you're done there will be another format out!

I think the way to go these days is all digital. I got a nice laptop with a big hard drive, and I put all my music on it. You can buy something that enables you to play the music wirelessly on your home stereo from your computer. I am just starting to look into that. No more CDs for this guy! I use the iPod in the car.

Marry somebody with your taste in music and you doubled your collection. That's two closets full. Some different stuff included Nu Shooz (remember those guys...I can't wait), Prince Around the World in a Day, those Led Zepplin Albums that had two songs on one side, Paul McCartney and Wings, Asia, The Rasberries, Kiss, K-Tel songs of the 70s, The Batman Theme by the Marketts, Petula Clark, The Zombies, America, and some Monty Python Records.
