Gowan's Set List

Postby SuiteMadameBlue » Mon Feb 20, 2006 12:09 pm

With all the Gowan fans on here, I'm in total shock  that no one posted the set list from his shows!!! Scott and you call yourself the President of the Larry Gowan Fan Club??? Shame on YOU!! (LOL)

I still think it's crazy that both Gowan and Dennis played the same nights up in Canada!! Don't know the attendance of Gowan's shows yet.

This is from his mailing lists, which I proudly belong to!! Gotta love him!!

The second set was the entire Strange Animal CD

Gowan Overture (orchestra)
Moonlight Desires
A Salty Dog (he noted it was the first time he ever played it live)
Awake the Giant
When There's Time for Love
All the Lovers in the World
Maple Leaf Rag
Dedication
Victory
~Intermission~
Cosmetics
Desperate
City of the Angels
Walking on Air
Burning Torches of Hope
Keep the Tension On
Guerrila Soldier
(You're a) Strange Animal

A Criminal Mind
I Am the Walrus

OMG, Darren, can you imagine the uproar if HE did sing any of THOSE songs?? Especially "Lady"!!!

To be honest, I think I would've been the first to go crazy about it!!!

outside youre a strange animal, criminal mind and guerrila soldier and awake the giant the selist imho kinda stinks, I would love to hear him do songs like message from heaven, the dragon, lost brotherhood, good catches up, pigeon and guns and God, but it would be awesome to hear a salty dog live

Okay I have a confession....I did not know
that Gowan was one in the same with the fella
in STYX until three days ago.
I loved Strange Animal great stuff but back in the 80's
my musical head was shoved so far up the backside of Journey
and Paul McCartney,I didn't come out to catch anyone
else often.
I figure thats the main reason this common
knowledge eluded me for so long.
hahahaha I can't belive I never knew it was him

I'm just kidding with you!!

Speaking about Journey, I have the Greatest Hits cd in right now!!

"Ask The Lonely" is playing, very loud!!

Nice to see you today lady(waving)

Indeed Gowan is well liked round Canuck land
but maybe you missed how I said my head

Great to hear that he played Salty Dog. I hope they add it to their setlist in '06.

I wonder what other changes we can expect this year?

I will be in Hollywood for their show at the House of Blues next month. I will give a full report.

I would like to see some obscure songs in the next Styx set for the tour with Ted and Night Ranger :D  like Love In The Midnight, Just Get Through This Night, Lights, Great White Hope and Half Penny Two Penny brought back.

But i expect the hits as per usual....

From what I heard, Gowan's concert was suppose to focus on him and his solo career.

Dave, I hope you do post a review and hope you have a GREAT time. I wouldn't be surprised if Styx added a few "treasures" from the past to their show.
