You conveniently forget that Perry was not supposed to be there, so the fans that showed up were there to see Neal, Jon, Augie, Deen and Ross. Not Perry.

Actually, YOU are the one doing the "surmising" by saying "I took that to mean..." Give it up. You bent what was said to fit what YOU wanted to hear.

The fans "didn't know" that Perry was coming to the WOF ( no one knew), but that doesn't mean that they didn't want to see him.

Obvisiously once the fans saw HIM there, they were very thrilled that Perry came, they even sang Happy Birthday to him! :D

So Dave! Mine were true reflections of what he actually said. That's fair. Saying that I would have thought something else if he had said something else, which he didn't do, was doing my thinking for me, and that your doing your meddlesome surmising, of which you are so famous, along with your remedial posts, which take up too much space and are anal retentive and boring, are only worthy of being scrolled past, imo.

HOTS said fans had "deserted the sinking ship". If Perry wasn't supposed to be there, then who were the people who showed up? People who are still on board, that's who.

Those fans had their wildest dreams come true, Nig. If Perry had let it be known that he would be there, there would have been an overwhelming number of fans there and that is a natural fact. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why he came unannouced.

That's funny, Perry himself said it was a last minute decision. You calling him a liar?

Not all.
SF Weekly interviewed one lady amongst the crowd who wasn't a fan of the current band.
She just showed up on blind faith that Perry would make an appearance.
These zealot extremists are crazy like that, man!
They will drive half way across the world with nothing more than a quarter tank of gas and a station wagon full of hope.

Well Nig! I'd say that it took time to make up his mind to do it that way. Who could have guessed that it would go so well for him. :)

What a great reward for her undying loyalty, right Noble?

That is "surmising".
But I will agree that more people would have been there (most likely) because they really couldn't believe it would happen.

HOTS,

How many times have you heard Perry's speech at the WOF? I have it on cd, and not once did Perry, from what I heard, dissed the current lineup of Journey, and this is my opinion only. What he said, and this is my opinion again, that Journey wouldn't of made it at all if not for the fans who bought the records, went to the concerts, etc. And Perry did say that the Star was for the fans, who made it possible for Journey to rise up and continue its musical Journey.

Yes he did...it was the worst ever...white with blue and red print,,he not only looked gay and like a girl, but the hairdo was gross also....jeans and a t-shirt would have been much better....

There are quite a few lame Cain moments...

...and I think #1-9 all happen in the video for Separate Ways.

#10 would be his little strut at the very beginning of Stone in Love in Houston '81.

Jon is just too good at making phone calls as Hearditontheisonstreet said + the one he made for Perry. The other silly stuff is small in comparison.
