Hold up... I think this started because I said to someone somewhere that I was tired of looking at half naked men on the forum. That should NOT translate to "Pull it down because I can't handle it". I just thought I'd balance it out with my image of Pestova... who I had a torrid love affair with in my dreams.

The only thing I will say is that if people look at these things at work it could leave passers-by with the wrong impression and potentially get someone in trouble. I'm not ever in that position, but I know people who might be. (that would be whether it half nekked men or women)

In short - use your maturity and good judgement and don't be adolescent and everything should be ok.

So then don't look at them. That IS my opinion of avatars. I.E if others are putting up digusting pictures, how offenseive can a male body be? Maybe I personally don't care to see pictures of tattoos either. Doesn't mean I"m going to harp on you to take it down because it's offensive to some. Get over it, it's a picture! Don't look at it!!

No and I don't see it here either, what's your point? lol She could see a lot worse things watching tv then a few avatars. What's more...if I have a child standing over my shoulder while I read this board, I would be a LOT more concerned about her reading the language and remarks made here then a few pictures.

They may be flaunty, but they are much more than half dressed. Dressed in black dresses that have a length that goes to their mid thigh when sitting - not quite half naked.

And you are right. she can see much more on MTV, but other than turning off tv, I can't necessarily stop that.

As a general rule I don't read this board on my computer when she is in the room, and I would never read it to her as a bedtime story, so she doesn't get the language issues that appear on this board.

For the record - I never let my daughter observe what I'm doing on my computer. Not that I do anything underhanded or seedy, but it's not really any of her business. I'm 34.... she's 5. When she's 18 then it won't be any of my business what she does on her compuer. All of you guys must surf the web with your kids in tow... kinda humorous.

I think this is a public place for adults

Now I want to know why some of you have your kids next to
you while posting? Don't you have some "me time" for yourselves.
I would send my kids to their room go do your homework, watch tv,
clean your room, shoot take your butt a nap, bathe go do something constructive. My point is if I am BUSY and you aren't bleeding or have
a broken bone or if your sister or brother aren't unconscious then do not
bother me on my "me time"! Post what you may if you may.

actually, this is a semi-public place that we are being allowed to use by Andrew.

While adults are primarily the people who post here, kids do come here.

As far as posting when my kids are in the room...I post where my computer is and while most times they aren't in the room, from time to time they do stroll into the living room where my desk and computer are.

Usually she doesn't, but in the house we are in now, the computer is in the living room, close to the tv, so I don;t rally have a choice if I'm going to be on computer-ERIC
