DEF BACKING TAPES LEPPARD
IRON BOREDOM I MEAN MAIDEN

AERO NEEDED RUN DMC TO GET OUR CAREERS BACK ON TRACK SMITH
MOTLEY WHY IS THE TIT CAM NOT ALWAYS ON THE BAND CRUE
FASTER TALENTLESS PUSSYCAT
SKID I CAN SCREAM LOUDER THAN ANYONE ELSE ROW
SOULESS NOT IN THE SAME LEAGUE AS JOURNEY SIRKUS

I have to go with:

Skid Row
Iron Maiden
Soul SirkUS - But who overrates them? Most people don't even know of them
Faster Pussycat - again, who overrates them?

I would classify Crue and BJ as groups that used to be great. Aerosmith are legends.

There is simply no way to overrate Iron Maiden. IMHO they are the greatest metal band period.

Suite......The Beatles, overrated ?????

all of the music they made that has stood the test of time was made over the period of 8 short years !!!

Name another band who has produced a body of work that compares to that of the Beatles in an 8 year period ! ( good luck with that.....)

must be all that "space dust" you've been inhaling

Back to the subject..... :)

OK, getting out of the way any and ALL rap "bands"/groups. Total jokes.

Worst or overrated rock groups:

The Knack - The worst band EVER
The Smiths - Morrissey's group, right? Not a fan of very many alternative bands.
The Clash - I do NOT get them at all
The Sex Pistols - Oh pleeeeeze!!!
The Grateful Dead - No Deadhead I !!!
The Dave Clark 5 - OK, going way back for them, but they were mentioned as candidates for the R & R Hall of Fame and they sucked!

The majority of the Hair Bands, but so many were so much fun I cannot list them.

There are others, but cannot come up with the names right now.

Bugsy
Change your hairdo. Change your name.
Congratulations! You're still the same.

Please, both those bands have been living on the legacy of their dead members for years. There weren't that good. Skynyrd in the Hall of Fame before Styx, Rush, Pat Benatar and Journey? Makes me sick.

I find it difficult to come up with examples of "overrated" bands, yet it's very easy to disagree with some of your choices....Is that wrong? ;)

No no, I was just kinda saying "hello."
Agree with your post, don't care for either band. Own no skynnrd period and only The Best Of The Doors.

I could never understand anyone liking Janis Joplin, since we seem to be going old school here. Like nails on chalkboard to me.

Same here. I've got a program director that LOVES skynyrd and tortures me daily. I like "That Smell" and "Simple Man" and that's about the extent of it. Did anyone else go to the Volunteers for America show in Atlanta in 2001? Skynyrd closed the show and I had to sit(I actually sat) through that crap to see the final jam. Not to mention the guy five rows behind me who started yelling "FREEBIRD" at three o clock in the afternoon...they went on stage at 11pm. I was at the beer stand and some southern lady was drunkenly celebrating her 40th birthday asked me where I was from and which of the bands I'd seen. I told her I'd seen them all except for Skynryd because I didn't care for them(I was polite). She started yelling at me and telling me what a "damn yankee" I was.
