Same here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-ERIC

Same here.
BUT.
If I had a chance to see her, as it was in the early 70s(or late 60es) live ,with the Big Brother & The Holding Company (or whatever it was).I would go for sure.
I think live was the way to see/hear Janis.
Jesus loves you ,but everybody else thinks you're a knob.

Have to disagree with all on Skynrd, I have seen them several times and they rock: Tuesday's gone, Sweet Home Alabama (amazing guitars), That smell, Call me the breeze, Gimme back my bullet. No they shouldn't be in the hall before Styx, but most of the inductees should not. More of Yawn Weeiner and Rolling Stoned magazine non since.

More overated:
Joni Mitchel (one good song does not a career make)
U2 (loved War, not crazy about Joshua Tree or Rattle and hum)
Police (Sting's solo stuff is better)
Phil Collins solo (go back to Genesis)

I would venture to say that this is the opposite. The Police's work is the masterpiece, STING is overrated(just ask him, he'll tell you how great he is)

Easy one for me - I guess these can be classified as rock bands

Dave Mathews Band
Grateful Dead

The Dead defined boring and DMB took it to new heights

Other contenders

Nirvana
Pearl Jam
Soloud
Ol' 78

Damn, Angie, I can't stop agreeing with you. The Police were a great band. Sting's solo stuff, while musically excellent, just lacks something to me.

I like Sting solo little better than the Police. Both good.
But Joplin for me...and Dylan like Suite said...I jsut don't "get" either of their music.
"I love almost everybody."---Rocky Balboa 1990
"Let's reform this thing.Let's go out and get some guys who want to work and go do it"--Neal Schon February, 2001

Come on Angie, fields of gold....I don't think anything from the Police touched that song. I liked them, just thought they were overated.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I love Sting's music, but I just don't think it can come close to what the Police did as a whole.

Yogi's 10 Most Overrated are:

10. THE Sex Pistols,THE Erythmics,THE B52's, THE Clash, THE Smiths. They are ALL the same AWEFUL band and they all suck!!- I couldnt name 5 songs, or albums from all of them combined. I guess as a rule if your band starts with THE in front of it you probably are horrible. There are some exceptions like THE Cars!!
9. THE Grateful Dead- Horrible
8. Bob Dylan- Who???
7. Blondie - Ruptured= Real Bad
6. Sting- THE Police: Awesome - Sting: Aweful- did'nt he do something about a blue turtle driving a Pink Cadaliac to Nebraska???? Or was that Bruce????
5. Eric Clapton- boring
4. U2- Bloody cant sing
3. Janis Joplin- 'Wont you please buy me a something to destroy her Cd's. My wifes mad at me and I must make ammends'. My wife loves her, and anytime she is pissed at me she throw on Janis. Knowing how much I cant stand her.
I get her back by playing Harrys Hands. She hates that song(calls it a Billy Joel We Didnt Start The Fire ripoff)
2.Bruce
1. Springsteen& THE East Street Band- The most OVERRATED singer???, poet???, wordsmith??? of ANY generation-

Harry's Hands - 1988
We Didn't Start the Fire - 1989

Who's ripping off whom???

(Admission -- Allentown was released in 1982 and Harry's Hands' theme more closely resembles this song)

Bugsy
Change your hairdo. Change your name.
Congratulations! You're still the same.
