Spokesmen for the Cleveland Contemporary Youth Orchestra today said that former Styx frontman Dennis DeYoung has been added to their special event of “A Night of the Music of Styx with Styx” May 25th. Spokesman for the orchestra said “We needed someone who actually knew what he was doing with an orchestra. That and the current Styx singer, a Mr. Lawrence Gowan, was scaring several of the younger orchestra members whenever he would ‘sing’ and some of them refused to return to rehearsals.” “Also,” added the spokesman, “we were hoping for someone who actually had experience selling a large number of copies of live DVD performances. Mr. DeYoung certainly fits that criteria, especially in Canada.”
Apparently ticket sales are a problem as well, as only 7 tickets have been sold so far, and those were to the family of the oboe player in the CCYO.
Now that Mr. DeYoung has been added, ticket sales are going briskly.
