You're right Monker. I am a follower.
Well, at least you admit it.
I also agree that Dennis' jokes can be a bit hacky. I don't see his shows for the jokes. I go for the music.
That's too bad, since he talks almost as much as Kevin Cronin.
Also, I do not want Dennis to get back with the other members of Styx, so why should I be a "leader" to make this happen?
Because that is the only version of Styx that matters.
[quyote]He was thrown out of Styx and if you look at it from the Styx point of view they feel justified as to why they kicked him out.[/quote]
So? You may feel justified to cheat on your taxes...but that doesn't make it right.
If things were that difficult for all of them to work together, and it wasn't going to produce positive results, then it is probably best they don't work together.
Then it is also best that Styx disband and Dennis stop covering Styx songs.
Even if there is some sort of reunion in the future, the pain caused by all of the ill feelings toward each other will probably harbor some resentment.
So what? At least it will be the real Styx.
If there's still that resentment, then how can they have the energy as a unified group to work together?
They will have that magic power of the music inside of them.
Since Dennis was kicked out, and he had spent his entire life building up Styx as a brand as a performer, what do you expect him to do after being thrown out?
I expect him to work on Hunchback, get it on PBS, and tour behind that music only. I don't believe anything he has ever done, including Styx, is as important and exciting to him as Hunchback. The only reason he continues to do Styx is because he can't sell tickets without that music.
He needed a band, and he had none.
Yeah, and who does he hire? Some guy named TOMMY? Gee, how ironic...riiiiigggght. Sorry, but he's not fooling anybody by his band of posers.
By the way, your "example" of critisizing what another person likes/dislikes is wrong: All you did was say why you don't like what Dennis does, which is fine. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. It's when you say "I think _______ is an a****** (or a "follower" in a derogatory manner) for thinking the way that they do" that you cross the line.
Ok, well, you're a follower. There, I crossed the line. See, I have the 'right' to do it.
And if your change in your sig. line is directed at me than so be it. I have better things to do in my life than to put up with the "bully of the message board" and will get the heck out of here and return posting at friendlier sites.
LOL...I have not changed it in MONTHS. I'm getting tired of it though, and should probably change it.
