DON'T LAUGH!!

What do you think the attendance would be if some promoter(s) with some major sack paired on the same concert bill Current Styx with Dennis/Glen & Dennis's band.

Each would get 90-100 minutes of stage time. Current Styx would NOT be allowed to sing any Dennis led tunes. They could alternate who opens & closes the shows.

So do you think JY, Dennis & all the players would agree to this??

How about a 25 Big City arena venue. Personally, I think even the critics who hated the band would check this show out. It would sell out EVERYWHERE, and would be HUGE for EVERYONE involved.

would it be a cool show. yes, critics and a lot of fans would hate it though. The concept would be too confusing to sellout major venues imho

The fans would hate it because if they could be that close on stage, they might as well be on the same stage.

If they are going to go that far, they might as well put on the 4 hour show and please everyone. The rule would have to be, if you didn't record it, you can't play on it. Ricky could fill in on songs Chuck couldn't play on and Todd could Drum his arms and legs off every night. Glen would play guitar for some songs and bass for others.

This is the swan song tour, but would be at least 5 years away.

This fan would LOVE it.

You get ALL the players that are still alive and associated with Dennis & Styx.

This would be a historical tour in many many ways.

Plus, has something like this ever been done??

The closest thing I can think of is Sammy & David Lee. That ploy was brilliant. This would be MUCH better!

Does anyone lose in this venture?? Its a win win for all involved.

GREAT!!!! We could all help Styx and Dennis 'make history' again.Think of it, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, the locals....

12,000 to 15,000 old, bald, fat asses throwing haymakers, Rogain bottles, canes, dentures, crutches, depends, etc at one another.

Just like they fight in the hood!! And its ALLLLLL because of music!!!!!

That damn rock & roll your parents warned you about!!!

It would probably only be agreed to if the money were just too HUGE to turn down. And of course Dennis would have to guest with Styx on his tunes......If they were going to actually do this that is....

It would be TWO seperate concerts, on the same bill. Styx opens for Dennis/ Glen and Dennis's band one night, Dennis opens for Styx the next.

I dont believe Dennis or JY would ever agree to this. Still I think it would be an AWESOME market ploy that would really bring in the fans.

If this was done correctly there would be NO losers on either side.

Think of the set list both could bring to the table. New songs, old hits, the lost album, hidden treasures,etc..

When all is said and done the old gruges could disappear, or the rivalary could drive each band to out perform the other. Everyone wins. What would the Styx, Dennis bashers think?? AWESOME!!!!!!

Except Styx losing credibility with their fans, that the one person is not greater then the band - by allowing Dennis to CLOSE some shows.

And, of course, Dennis looking like a complete ass by Styx rocking him completely off the stage.

And, the fans losing because they have all othe 'pieces' of the 'classic' Styx there, but not performing together.

Think of the set list both could bring to the table. New songs, old hits, the lost album, hidden treasures,etc..

And, Hunchback and other broadway stuff. And, cover songs.

When all is said and done the old gruges could disappear, or the rivalary could drive each band to out perform the other. Everyone wins. What would the Styx, Dennis bashers think?? AWESOME!!!!!!

It's a completely STUPID idea. They are two completely different entities now. Dennis is FAR away from where Styx is, musicaly. There is absolutely no reason for them to tour together - except to satisfy some fan desire to see it happen.

As for 'has this been done before'. Yes did it...only they had an album to go along with it. ABWH combining with Yes for Union. That will never happen with Styx. ABWH was essentialy recording new Yes music...and Yes couldn't get things together well enough to record anything. Dennis hasn't written and recorded much of anything and what Styx does isn't what Dennis would allow them to do if he was in the band.

Sorry, two separate concerts with these gentlemen involved would never work. Sounds like it would be like "battle of the bands".

I dont believe Dennis or JY would ever agree to this. Still I think it would be an AWESOME market ploy that would really bring in the fans.

JY would never agree to this. Dennis would want the band Styx back together for one night. Dennis and Glen and the others all on one stage together, the past with the current.

If this was done correctly there would be NO losers on either side.

I'm sure a few of them would try to outplay the "other side". There shouldn't even be sides to this mess.

Think of the set list both could bring to the table. New songs, old hits, the lost album, hidden treasures,etc..

I'd rather have all the boys back together on one stage to have all these songs played, not separate groups opening up for each other.

When all is said and done the old gruges could disappear, or the rivalary could drive each band to out perform the other. Everyone wins. What would the Styx, Dennis bashers think?? AWESOME!!!!!!

There's one old grudge that will never disappear, that's why this would never work.

BUT look for DeYoung & Shaw to hit the stage together, how cool is that? OMG, what if DeYoung, Shaw & Burtnik ?? OMG and Rik Emmett opening???

Suite,

Are you saying Dennis would share the same stage with Lawerence??

I would figure Dennis could probably forgive(not forget) everything, but he would never go up on stage with the guy who was asked to replaced him.
I am sure it is nothing personal against Lawerence,( it is probably faarrrr more personal with JY and Tommy) its just that he is now the guy who is singing Dennis's signature songs.

I like my idea. One band shows up and plays from 7:00 - 8:45, and the other plays from 9:00 until 10:50.

They are BOTH Styx. If their egos & lawyers could stand it, EVERYONE would win. Think of the sets they both could come with.

No one is getting any younger. This could also help mend some of the hurt that I am still is lurking within some of the members.

Yes he would share the same stage as Larry, but not with Larry singing Dennis' songs solo.

I'd BE there.

I'm sure Lawrence would prefer NOT to sing DDY's material if given the option to play his own stuff or Dennis'. To see the "dueling pianos" alone would be reason enough to see this imaginary show.

Exactly :)

The "Imaginary Show" - LOL

Never Say Never!! Anything can happen. Who would've thought that Pink Floyd would get together for one show.

After seeing Glen on the stage with Dennis, anything can happen. Nothing will surprise me anymore.

You would have to go to some posts from way back. Froy wrote that he contacted Dennis back in 1991 about not replacing Tommy with Glen. He then stated that he wrote Tommy about the same thing in regards to Lawerence replacing Dennis.

I know Froy struck out on his attempts. But he gave me some ideas that have work out in regards to the sports industry.

It was because of Froy that I got the idea to write the Chicago White Sox Organazation and requsted that they make a trade for Jim Thome.I kind of figured Dennis would like this. I did the same with the Houston Texans, and that is why they passed on Reggie Bush and Vince Young. I am currently in the process of contacting the Minnesota Timberwolves about my Kevin Garnett solution. Finally, with my'FAN INPUT' Wayne Gretsky will make a comeback next year in Edmonton. I am confident in that. Thanks Froy. You are well ahead of your time!!!

As for his Boycott Styx Petition..... I for one still think this one might work. It was a GREAT idea!!!!!

P.S. Look for Froy to broker the peace deal between Israel & Hamas!!
