Does triple platinum mean the same as it used to? Isn't that 3 million? or 300,000? I used to know...

Anyway, 6.0 is the 6th version of Styx, ie: you have 1.0 which was with JC, 2.0 the glory line-up, 3.0 GB in place of Tommy, 4.0 TS, DDY, JY, CP, and Todd, 5.0 the one you all hate, and 6.0 the newest one you all hate.

Anyway, 6.0 is the 6th version of Styx, incarnation-wise. You have 1.0 which was with JC, 2.0 the glory line-up, 3.0 GB in place of Tommy, 4.0 TS, DDY, JY, CP, and Todd, 5.0 the one you all hate, and 6.0 the newest one you all hate.

I just never got that number thing, it's kind of silly. So the next incarnation in 2007 will be 7.0 ? LOL

I don't hate them as people, hate is such a strong word.

I'm still so happy for Dennis !!! I still love to watch his Star Academie performance, unfricken believable!! I still get chills when he enters the stage for "Suite Madame Blue".

Ever the eloquent one. lol

LOL, too bad you didn't meet Ash in person, he's fricken great!!! My stomach hurt for days from laughing too hard :)

Yeah, it's a bummer - lol...Although, to do so I would have had to fly to Jersey to see Glen play 5 or 6 songs. ;-)

J/K...well, sorta. lol

Actually, history has taught me that most people from cyber Styx world are very different IRL, or at least have the benefit of face-to-face inflection, as opposed to being left to the reader's devices based on the written word and nothing else.

But Ash does come off as pretty angry a lot of the time - sort of like you see Monker nowadays. Maybe a massage is in order...

For me.

Maybe I'll get a chance to meet you guys one day - Glen shows seem to be neutral territory.

It was started as a quick way for people to reference which line up they were talking about, that's all. Not meant to be a rule.

The next incarnation will happen if/when they change members again, not the year, dopey! :D

You would've had fun with us!!! I would've given you big hugs during "Babe"!!! It's like I've known everyone that I met for years! Well, actually I guess technically I did know everyone for years - LOL Anyway, it was great !!

Actually, history has taught me that most people from cyber Styx world are very different IRL, or at least have the benefit of face-to-face inflection, as opposed to being left to the reader's devices based on the written word and nothing else.

OMG, you're not kidding! It's funny, because when I do go to the Styx 5.0/6.0 shows with the hard core Dennis bashing people, they're so different in real life. I have differences with people on line, but meeting them in person it all changes :)

But Ash does come off as pretty angry a lot of the time - sort of like you see Monker nowadays. Maybe a massage is in order...

Poor Monker, I hope he did go to the spa a few times to relieve that tension that he's been carrying. Poor guy!!

As for Ash, nope, not angry, he's way too much fun!! Besides all the middle of the night stuff, the best part of the trip was when he turned around and Glen was right there, the expression on his face was priceless!!!

For me.

Maybe I'll get a chance to meet you guys one day - Glen shows seem to be neutral territory.

I seriously hope so!! It would be nice if everyone could meet at one special concert :)

I'm meeting Yogi in 2 weeks, I hope everyone warned him about the real me!!!

LOL, I know I was just being a smartass and picked 2007 for the new 7.0.

Dopey?? Moi?? LOL That's cute :)

I remember seeing Styx 5.0 everywhere and never knew what that meant at the time and now I saw when Jodes posted 6.0 - LOL

I really think I need to change my hair color again - LOL

Glen seemed very happy! It must've been okay since he's doing a few more shows - :D Thank god!

That's why I'd be hugging you during "Babe" and singing with you!!

I'm not angry, but I am very sarcastic. Don't confuse the two.

The best way to know when I'm angry is I use profanity. I try to keep that in check tho :)

Although I am white hot pissed this morning over some real life related stuff.... so perhaps that came across. Most of the time I'm just over the top sarcastic...

Of course.... I'm like that in real life. Right Suite?

I actually talk much like I type... which is hard to imagine... because I talk a lot faster :)

Maybe you are the internet male version of me, which is why I don't see what others may find blaringly obvious. lol

(but "ass" is technically profain.) ;-)

And I appreciate that quality in a person!

Oddly enough, I am very much the same in person too - I guess that's not always common - only I tend to get on better with people face-to-face. I would also kick your ass in a talking race, my friend.

Okay Ash, not sure if your comments were directed to me or not.

As for the CD in Canada, Platinum is 100 000 copies.

For a DVD to go Platinum here, it must sell 10 000 copies. So Dennis has sold 30 000 or so here in Canada.

Again, I will try and find out more about Dennis "original" material solo album when he's here in Edmonton on June 16th.

One other thing, wasn't it Styx 5.1? lol

I've met with 3 different groups on a Styx pilgrimages - 2 in New York to see Styx and 1 with Dennis/Glen. In all cases, the people I met were great.

I do have to say that meeting Ash,Suite, & Bugsy to see Dennis & Glen was the most fun I had of the three. For 4 peeps that only knew each other from here, you would have thought we knew each other for years. Even if we only walked 3 blocks.

When it gets down to it, for all of us here it is about the music. and good people follow good music.

The peeps here are the best

Yah it was a blast.... even if Suite is NUTS. I swear, Suite and Bugsy are about as opposite as personalities go... and they shared a room. LOL. I still say I had a better time in NJ tho. I'm just quieter about it ;)

For a CD the numbers are:
50,000 units is a Gold Record
100,000 units is a Platinum Record

For DVD's the numbers are:
5,000 units is gold
10,000 units is platinum

You can find it on this site: http://www.cria.ca/goldplat.php

Also, a sale of a double CD counts as TWO UNITS...a 'unit' is one CD. So it only takes half as many sales to hit the above awards for a double CD.

A triple platinum CD is 300,000/2 or 150,000 units.

I have had the chance to read this book. I have read everything from the first album thru Kilroy. VERY good read. It is not "National Enquire-ish" at all and a quite enjoyable read.

JC's departure is discussed. So are some of his ideas and directions that he wanted the band to take.

From what I have read, I wish BTM was more like this book will be. A lot of it is details we already know about, but these are more detailed.

Can't wait to read the solo years thru 99! That will be interesting stuff!

Aside from maybe 500 people who "care" about this band, who is going to buy the book? Can hardly see it being worth the effort to put it together. Especially 20+ years after their prime.

Wow, where did you get ahold of these drafts DJ Mike? I take it you know the guy. I know I would be very interested. There are books made all the time on bands that have only limited interest from the book buying public at large. I have many. Usually these are offered online and/or dragged around the country and sold at the bands souvenir stands(if the author strikes some kind of agreement with the band)

Thanks for the info Monker..

That definately makes more sense now.. So since Dennis's album is 2 disc, he just needed to sell 50 000 copies of it to go Platinum.

But still, to sell 30 000 copies of his DVD, that's pretty good.

To sell that alone in the Province of Quebec is not unheard of.

No wonder he's not selling out in Toronto and can't even sell 1000 tickets in Edmonton.

All of his fan base is in Quebec!

Double CD's are also more expensive than single CD's.

What is 1500 and 2200 CD's respectively for the last two Styx releases? Is that like tin or something? :)
