TONIGHT

Postby I Stumble In » Thu Jul 13, 2006 10:36 pm

Tonight is the night - very fired up!! Leaving early to check into the Hotel - I think that the boys are staying at the same one.
Had a chance to see CCR last night (my hometown had them in). The lead singer does a great job in Fogerty's place, and it was a good show. They played at a 7000 seat ampitheater in my town - and my inlaws live right behind the place. Had a campfire and my girls got to swim (and dance) in the pool while the show was going on. Great time. Going to see Clay Walker on Friday, and Lonestar in Saturday. This and had the chance to see The Letterman, Bobby Rydel, and the Association on Tuesday night. I guess it's the week of Concerts for this Old Dog!!

Unlike you Froy - I can just enjoy the music and forget the Band politics.
Having a good week.

Froy doesn't want anyone to have fun. Reminds me of Debbie Downer.

OMG!!! YOU in a Speedo???? LOL!!!!!

Zan, it's beautiful on the lake that his house is on!! Besides tubing, swimming, go-karting and everything else the best part was going around the lake at night and listening to the music, kids off of the lake were shooting off fireworks and it was close to a full moon, so perfect on a summer night! No offense Froy, but no more of your singing - LOL

I couldn't agree more. I LOVE John Denver. Whenever I go visit my mother in the Smoky mountains, I put in my Denver CD - it isn't the same without the background music. He was a great one, for sure, sorely missed.

Froy, I would love to come meet you - and throw you in the lake, but I am with a group of people who have already decided on the doing the Ren Fest in Kenosha(sp?) on Sunday. One of them is depending on me for transportation back to the airport as well, so I'm afraid I'm going to have to miss the speedo show, as tempting as that is. lol

You could always come to Kenosha. Gowan won't be there. ha ha

Great Show

Postby I Stumble In » Sat Jul 15, 2006 12:12 am

What a great show last night - my ears are still ringing. The place was packed - must have been 6000 or so. For those that haven't been to Common ground - check it out next year (www.commongroundfest.com). Outside venue - you bring your own chairs or blankets. We got there a little late - but were able to find a spot about 50 foot from the stage. It was funny - there was this small roped off area that no one was sitting in - so we asked security what it was for - he said - just go in and sit down. PERFECT!!
The boys played for almost 2 hours - and were certainly tight. Chuck showed up and was given a HUGE ovation. The only down part of the show was the new song - I didn't really care for it.
I have lots of pics that I will post when I download them.

Speaking of CCR.. Did you guys know that Tom Fogerty died of Aids? I knew he died of pneumonia, but I didn't know that he died of Aids related causes.

Was it due to a blood transfusion or was he into interveinous drugs?
