Styx and Supertramp.......a what if question

Postby DarrenUK » Tue Jul 25, 2006 11:37 pm

If Styx reunited with Dennis and Hodgson returned to Supertramp who would draw the biggest crowds in America...?

Can you imagine what an awesome double bill that would be ?

That would depend on the region in the US for these shows.

I can guarantee that a Styx & Supertramp show would sell out at least 2 shows back to back in Milwaukee. Milwaukee is the most popular city for Supertramp since the beginning and also very popular for Styx.

Dennis and Roger are performing together in Canada, they both sell out show after show up there.

Supertramp will probably not reunite due to the issues with Rick. It's a very similar situation with him and Roger, as it is with JY and Dennis. I think Roger is pretty much open to anything but Rick puts a stop to it. Dennis is open to a reunion but JY puts a stop to it.

Dennis and Roger will probably be doing a few dates together here in the States, Canada & UK in 2007. OMG wouldn't that be the greatest thing if Rik Emmett opened those dates. Too bad Steve Perry turned it down, bummer!

But I know nothing about anything!

I don't think Supertramp would be that big of a draw. While they had quite a few hits, I don't really recall them gaining a lot of attention in the States. And I wasn't aware that the band had any sort of drama (like Styx and Journey)...I just thought they broke up.

Yeah, I think the reaction would be something like, "Supertramp? They're still alive?"

Yes I could imagine I have told this to both Roger and Dennis already
They both know it

Roger Hodgson is over priced and Lazy he does 2 shows a year in America
His managment should be fired
2 women who have no idea how to manage his career.

He charges 40 thousand dollars for a 75 min show with no band
Thats why you never see him
He shows up with his computer keys and plays for 75 min and goes home

Don't get me wrong I love the guy but he has ruined his career with bad managers

Wrong info Suite
Rick wants his wife to manage the band and Roger say's no way
thats the hold up.

If Rick took his wife out of the picture you would see Supertramp again,

I don't know for sure, I never do, everyone knows that. Things change day to day. I know it's been talked about, that's all, just talk right now. :D

I'm looking forward to seeing Dennis & Roger together on Canadian Idol!!

Well I know that Roger with Supertramp would sell out across Canada (I know I know, but they were bigger here then in the US), because Supertramp WITHOUT him is still a big draw, playing arenas up here. Styx with Deyoung, it could do well in Canada, but it would definately do better in the US.

Maybe Froy you should try and come up to Canada to see a Roger Hodgson show, because they are minimum 90 minutes up here. Yes he's by himself, but still quite the show.

BTW.. DDY's Calgary show was about 100 minutes long, I hope we get at least that in Edmonton on November 4th!

Jodes, I don't know if you went back and read the posts from September. Froy and I went to Canada to interview Roger, tape the show and we were VIP to both of his sold out shows. I witnessed the best shows that I have seen in a long time, yes quite the show. Froy and I were just at Roger's show here in Waukesha in June too. I guess we both can say that we are pretty much friends with Roger.

:D

Cool, no I didn't know you interveiwed him etc.

That's pretty cool.. I wanted to see him in Calgary when I was there, but had to cut my vacation short. Missed him and Blackhawk. Still choked about that!

Oh well, at least I got to talk to Glen for a bit and Dennis said hi to me.. All I could say was "thank you!" lol.. Next time!

BRAGGING ALERT!!!

Yes, it was for my little tv show that I have here. We had a pretty long interview, fan interviews and also featured 4 songs. I'm very proud of that show, it turned out great. I also interviewed Dennis for my show and even received a state award in local access cable - LOL It was a great interview and then we took the cameras in the radio station and filmed him with the radio interview, his expressions are priceless!!

I think I sent a few people copies of the interviews - LOL Or maybe I was going to, I can't remember who has what anymore - LOL

They're great guys and so is Glen!!
