Here's another from the Philly show June 4th 1983.
Escape. At the ending of the song SP sings "Philadelphia Rocks" over and over again. Also at the end of this file there's a cool Smitty solo. Enjoy.

You know the old adage; if it sounds too good to be true....

Sorry that's live. What tape did he possibly use????????????????????

He actually sang that song quite a few times. I've heard it and have other versions of it pre-2003.

Why not just give some credit? And yes, I hear Deen in there too, but Augeri sings his parts here very well.

I'd be interested to hear more from the 2003 Warfield concert....this way I can hear the dvd I never got to watch.

Same old story, same old song and dance. I agree with what happened in 05, 06. However, Augeri was very good at one time. DEAL WITH IT!

Thanks to the person that posted this. If you have the whole show, please PM me as I'd love to trade some aud or vid for it.

It really is a fine performance of the song. Shame some feel the need to shit all over it. I have barely been on here lately. This post was worth the trip back.

diff from perrys,

Yes. But close enough to do some justice to the Perry songs. I never claimed it was Steve Perry or better than SP was. What I did say was I was amazed at the time that anyone could come close to pulling those songs off. They still sounded like Journey. Saw the Journey/Foreigner tour and I went kicking and screaming. By the end of the night, I accepted what I saw and heard. Then enjoyed that lineup for 6 years. Shame it ended poorly, but it doesn't take away that one of my favorite bands gained some new life for a few years.

Just sayin' 8)

The 2006 Manchester UK boot proved that they have lead vocal tapes for "Dead or Alive" "Edge of the Blade" and "Keep on Running" all with Augeri on lead. Both feature Augeri singing better than he has in his entire career, hitting notes right out of the stratosphere, even covering the end of EOTB without any Deen assistance.
None of those vocals were live, and I highly suspect, neither is this.

Furthermore, if you'll recall, the Warfield show was beset with fans alleging Steve was lipping that night.

Why not just give some credit?

It doesn't sound live to me. Sorry. I give credit where credit is due.
"After the Fall" in this thread sounds like Augeri to me.
This sounds like tape.
Unless he went back stage and had a team of doctors ram his throat with cortisone shots, there is simply no way you’re telling me that is Steve hitting these glass shattering high notes.
I’ve heard too much over the years and I know better.

Same old story, same old song and dance. I agree with what happened in 05, 06. However, Augeri was very good at one time.

That's true, but by and large, 2003 was not one of them.
For most of the Main Event tour he sounded hoarse and Neal Schon even said as much.
Claiming Augeri went thru the entire tour without a voice because he blew it out rehearsing in dry hot weather.

DEAL WITH IT!

There's nothing for me to deal with. This simply doesn't sound like a live performance to me.

Listen to Separate Ways off the Manchester boot then listen to Separate Ways off the 2001 DVD and tell me those two aren't identical.
