Mother Father is live. geez.
Singers can have off nights gang. It's a fact. If you don't believe it, listen to the ROR philly show. Perry's CRACKING all over the place. Listen to the charlotte vs atlanta 2006 boots with soto. Same guy, but on one his voice is better than the other (though not much).
I've been a singer for 25 years and there are nights when I'll start off great and by the end of the night, I'll be having difficulties in songs I've sang a million times. Can also start off not so good and end the night hitting notes I've never hit. The voice is not a constant thing, especially at Augeri's age. He may have used some tapes. He ain't the only one out there. Listen to the Osaka 83 boot with Don't Fight it and Don't Stop Believin. On both of those tracks, there's someone singing with Perry that sounds a hell of a lot like Perry. Listen with headphones.
I know that Aerosmith also uses tracks live, the Who (God, watch the live aid video when they get off the sequence in baba o'reilly or won't get fooled again, it's funny), U2 when playing Beautiful Day live.... I'm not 'necessarily' saying it's okay, but it's not unexpected. Also, if it is true, it's not that big of a deal... Nothing to destroy a band or a career over. whatever.

Hey this version of Escape 83 is cool. This was my favorite part of the Frontiers and Beyond video. Pretty loose vocal on Perry's part. It was one of the spots in the video where it looked like he was having fun. That video was kind of like watching "LET IT BE". You could tell they were breaking up. I liked Escape much better before Cain started dropping those dopey fanfare horn lines in with his keyboards. Ick.

The vocals are though. I've listened to both versions enough times to tell that both vocal performances are identical

It was soundchecked in Chicago with JSS, so maybe they're thinking of bringing it out soon.

My take on this thread

Postby AR » Fri Jul 28, 2006 3:38 am

Here's my take on this thread.

If someone posts a song and you liked it, the proper response ought to be
"Hey, thanks a lot" or something like that.

Something is offered that you don't like, think is "faked", think is a poor performance, or an era of the band you don't like, or a song you just didn't care for: Then just don't say anything. A few tracks that have been offered up weren't for me per say. However, I still appreciated that someone was cool enough to share them.

There are plenty of other threads for all the debating, bitching, whatever. So many that it's comical (and mildly entertaining) .

With this thread, people are just offering up some tracks they think others might enjoy. There's nothing more obnoxious than coming in and shitting all over something just because you personally don't like it. Especially if you aren't offering anything up in return yourself.

Not throwing anyone under the bus or singling anyone out. We all have our opinions. This is just my take as someone who's posted quite a few things for people to hear.

good points. This is the wrong thread for that. This is my personal favorite thread. No sense in wrecking it.
Sorry for straying...
On the recording of Saturday Night from Denver that was posted, do you think Rolie and the rest of the band were kind of wondering what Perry was doing during that one live? Perry brought a way different feel to that song live in places stepping on Rolie's part. Greg had to be going "What the f***!?"

LOL.
I love all these rock ribbed Augeri fans who can't even tell the difference between their fav singer's voice and a tape recording.

This thread is for people to share boots and for people to listen to them.
If it's good say so.
If it sucks say so.
Say whatever.

I have Augeri singing "Opened the Door" and I have Deen doing "Happy to Give".
Most of the other rareities in my collection have been posted by others here, sadly.

Anyone have a FULL version of Deen singing "Suzanne"? The only one I could find cuts off at about 2:30.
Thanks. :-)
